Yeah, he's got to be tired though. He's averaged 48 mpg, even playing 48 in their recent Cup match. Making under $8k weekly, he's definitely shooting above his salary.

Goats are still searching for an identity. Bobby has been playing outstanding basketball although his stats don't particularly show it right now. Goats have been toying with the idea of switching around their smalls. We've moved Bobby to PG, Angelo to SG, and Darius to SF. This last match, we switched Angelo and Darius. Right now, it won't matter much because despite strong play from Bobby and Diego, the remaining three starters have been rather dreadful. Goats are not getting much help down low in the paint although I do feel like my current starter is a better all around player than my former, although going back to Frank down low might be in the cards due to his superior defense.

Free Throw shooting has a major thorn. In this game, we left 10 points off the board because my two star players couldn't make a free throw even if they were allowed to shoot with the ball halfway through the rim. And don't get me started on their stamina issues either. You wouldn't know it by looking at their stats, but these two players are just awful late in the games. They put up all of their numbers early and then fizzle out down the stretch, like a flame on a matchstick.

I have often debated on how much $$$ to put into the staff position of a trainer. The superior and better trainers with low weekly salaries are quite expensive to procure initially I've noticed. It's also a tough decision each week on what areas to focus on for your squad's roster from the trainer. Do we focus on increasing stamina or free throws for the whole team or focus on other important areas for key positions?

This definitely is a game of strategy and there's a lot for all of us managers to constantly consider. Your observations are both entertaining and informing. It will be interesting to see how this season plays out.

I'm with you on that. The game planning, building a training plan, deciding when to buy and when to sell, build more seats, fire and hire new staff ... it's why I'm still addicted to this game after so many years of playing. I'm even working on building my first app using Python (was going to try C++) to build a team/player analyzer so I can try and figure out my best lineups.

As for deciding when to train FT and Stamina, it's painful to let those go. I can't stand seeing how frequently my players stamina levels drop and they never improve unless I spend 1-3 weeks training for a single pop. If you train those skills, you are losing valuable training pops for your younger prospects.

I could see value in training Stamina if I knew there was a reward for doing so ... like a single pop correlates to a noticable enough rise in game efficiency or game rating over time.

As for training Free Throw, as badly as I want to do it at times, improving Gabbiadini's free throw skill from atrocious to pitiful means what exactly in the grand scheme of things? Is he going experience a dramatic shift towards a higher shot percentage from a career 0.236 (for the Goats through 4 seasons and this season, he's at 0.242, +0.006)? I mean, I've got another player who's FT skill is pitiful and they're shooting 0.375 career (although they're shooting above 0.500 this season while attempting 1 more than last season), but they're also shooting 1 less free throw per game than Gabbi. I could spend the next 3 weeks training free throws and I'm going to see maybe 2 points extra on our scoreboard from Gabbi.
