Aha, yes.

But, if a player is fouled and still gets a shot off, wouldn't that be his handling skill? Along with his hidden physicality?

I thought of it as driving gets you an open look and handling finishes the open look.

If handling and driving are so similar, so why would it make sense have two different skills?

Maybe handling is (at least also) an important defensive skill. In the german translation of buzzercontrol outside defense is translated as "Raumdeckung" which means defending in zones whereas handling is translated as "Manndeckung" which points to a defense skill in an one on one setting - would this make sense to you?

I can easily imagine that a player who is strong at handling the ball can give hard times to those who cannot...
