if you play with center with height 200 there`s more chance that he will get block allso his training is slower, but thats not the point... Logical that more height is Center more chances to defend the basket...

Maybe I`m wrong I don`t really know, but I think that I should be right.

You're wrong. Height affects training speed ONLY. This has been discussed in detail in several different threads.

sorry I just missed that... and that means I am wrong...

I could add that sometimes like now I really miss coz if C 180cm could play against C 224cm... just don`t have what to say... Lithuania is county made of Basketball... It`s our religion... so this is really funny...

Well, when you consider the reasoning behind this, it makes perfect sense. A player's skill in a given position takes his height into account. Example: a 6'2" strong rebounder is more skilled at rebounding than a 7'2" strong rebounder. However, the 7'2" rebounder is much taller and that makes up for his lack of skill. Therefore, they are equally good rebounders.

Get a random 2.20 guy off the street and play him against a 1.80 who has trained professionally for, say, 10 years. You'd be surprised what the results will be.

Actually, the sign of a good rebounder is when he picks up the ball from the floor. It's called boxing out. If you seal your man well enough far enough from the basket, you might be 5'10 and it wouldn't matter.

Maybe. I'm just explaining the BB reasoning behind the height/skill relationship.

Oh, I misread you. Yes, you make a very good point

You may be right, i don't know. But since height is given in the XML file, i don't see a problem to implement it and that's what i'm asking for. You got your opinion and you are free to use height for formulas or just let it be...

I think you misunderstood me. I don't care whether or not you use height in your formulas. Whatever makes you happy. I posted in response to an inaccurate piece of information that claimed the game engine took height into account.

Okey but you take 1.80 with lvl 7blocks ant 2.20 lvl7 blocks... thats mean they both are trained... and if height doesn`t metter that means game engine could do that 1.80 could give maybe 3-5 blocks to 2.20 player... If I would ever saw that in real Basketball mach I could agree with you...

And I have skill`s in basketball... my height is 1.74 and if you put me against 2.20 man he even if not trained would give me at least one block... he just need put his arms up and that would be hard enouth for me to score...

All I wanna say that when there are same skills height of player must give him advantage... sure not big but some...

sure I made some mistakes so sorry for that....
