He is a bit tall to do be a SF.

6'8" is just about an in-between height, so conventional thinking says this is just the right height for SFs. However, I generally agree with you that he is too tall. This is only because I like outside focused SFs more in the new engine (to be more specific, looking more like a PG). I like my SF trainees to be right around 6'4" (less can even be better).

Hi all,

I have only one rookie this year but he should become my starting SF or rather PF in a while:

Age: 18
Height: 6'10" / 208 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: respectable

Jump Shot: respectable ↑ Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: pitiful
Driving: mediocre Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: mediocre

He's receiving Guard Training this and possibly next season. So far he's had 3 ups in Jump Shot (5, 2 weeks ago and this week).

Which kind of training do you think would help him the most? I'm thinking about getting his JS up to 9 or 10, that should also bring his JR up to 6. Besides that, 1 or 2 levels of OD might be nice. But that depends on how much his height actually slows down that training...
If I keep training guards next saison, he'll get some more ups in JS. If I switch to PF/C training, I'll rotate between the four big men skills.

But now I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts!!

Nice player that i can see him more as PF than SF, especially if you train 2 positions. (Training OD on a such tall player is really painful slow) He needs some serious improvement on his HA too.

Handling is his only real weakness, that's true.
But is it important enough on PF to train it with such a tall guy? I'm not yet sure if I'll train it. I'd definitely sacrifice 2-4 weeks if I train guards next season but that would only give 1 up or maybe 2 if I'm very lucky...

Currently he's averaging 1 Turnover in 19.2 minutes. But the biggest part of that time he's been playing as PG or SG, so playing him as PF or C should generally result in less turnovers, right?
That again leads to the question if I'd be better off getting 2-3 ups in a main skill or working on 1 -2 ups in a secondary skill...

I'd appreciate some more opinions regarding this.

Try training one on one for forwards. That should help you with both HA and JS..And of course, driving, although it doesn't seem to be too important.

I want what all men want...I just want it more.

But even if I train 1on1 for Forwards, the Handling part will still be slow due to his height, won't it?
