i would say dont mind wha they think or what ever the approval rating be

just get there , work that team up and win games and get us up there

if thats done no approval rating is going to damn even speak versus about what the accomplishment may there be.

Just one point on the approval rating, the lower it is the harder I'll work and communicate with everyone in an attempt to raise it. I think i'll give it a week and then see how the approval rating is after everyone has their vote. If it is still low (below 70%) then alarms will be ringing.

Yea i dunno, id give it time to let the rating even out, like c-cat said proberly disgrutled election runners. Wouldnt worry too much about it. Really you cant judge a manager until they have picked the team and played a game. You havent done anything yet that we can dissaprove of.

look you cant please anyone the bottom line is if your winning what can they do about it. i think communicating with people will be your least problem because surely if i have a nice player i would want him to be in the national team

dont think about it too much

like me a lot of people hate me but im still winning i won back to back and they cant do anything about it.

just look at how the comments are if another person plays in the championship almost all the cheer and goodluck goes to that person , when another person beat me the congratulations were more than me winning it. i mean i almost dont get any congrats for winning it.

so take it as i do , dont think about it. surely there are other better people out there willing to help you

J-Dog you got 40% of the vote. Amazing.

Its at 70% right now.

It will go down or up based on your games now.

I like to start the u21 with approval for the coach (especially if I voted for him) only changing if he really is not doing a good job.

Seem people might be not voting til they get a result first to have something to judge you on.

you can't please everyone.

Hey Guys,

We had a good win last week, let's see if we can really get our team rolling against Lubnan this week.

Tactics are posted on BB-Stats (http://www.bb-stats.org/forum/index.php), so let me know what we think.

Also last week I said that if my approval rating was to drop below 70% I would find out why I have being getting disapproving votes and try to fix the problems that are causing these types of votes. So let me know the reasons why I have disapproving votes, preferably from the managers that voted disapprove and we will work out ways to make those voters happy.

Thanks Everyone

Hi J-Dog,

I agree that its good that you encourage feedback and continue to listen to others but I hope you don't make the mistake of worrying too much about what others think.

I appreciate the advice that both yourself and C-Cat have given me in the past and you seem of good character so just do your best rather than getting weighed down by popularity polls.

My one suggestion to make the Australian underage and open teams stronger is to plan long term.

That is don't just concentrate on the players who are 20 or 21 and who are in the team or are on the verge of being in the team.

What Portugal did with me last season is they contacted me when I purchased a 18 year old potugese player and started making suggestions as to what and how I should train him and gave me feedback as to what skill levels I had to get him to by the age of 20 so that he would be drafted into the Portugal under 21 team at that stage.

Apologies if yourself and or others do this already.

Sid

My advice is bring some of the less sensitive information onto this forum.

This will allow users who are not aware of the NT Forums on bb-stats.org to see that you are active in controlling the team.

Also something to work on for both the U21 and the NT is getting Staff organised.
I think involving the community in more than sharing tactics is an important part of the NTs.
Most of the other big NTs are like fully fledged organisations (especially the US, German and Italian leagues)

Australia has been getting right up there with the big NTs since I was the coach in season 3/4 so I think it is definitely time to get a Staff structure in place so Australia as a community can really start to grow together.

Some ideas for positons:
Level 1 - U21 Coach (elected)
Level 2 - Scout Manager (appointed), Tactics Advisor (appointed), Communication Manager (appointed)
Level 3 - Offical NT Scout (appointed)

The tactics advisor should be someone who is known in Australia as a good tactician (for example Shepard is one of the best in the ABBL). This person would consult with the NT manager about the weaknesses and strengths of the opponent and how best to defeat them.

The Scout Manager would develop a strategy on acquiring new players. This person would find people willing to be Official NT Scouts and assign them countries (or continents) to search for new players (using the NT scout feature on bb-stats.org).

The communication manager would be in charge of managing the information on the NT forums and what is made public on the BB Forums

Creator of (http://www.buzzerbeaterstats.com) and (http://www.buzzerbeaternews.com/) -- Ex GM of Australia -- Division 1 winner of Italy Season 1 then moved team to Australia after the country was created by the BBs. Australian team manager for 2 seasons. Won various tournaments and division 1 titles in the following seasons.

Very good advice Judge Nik. I absolutly agree with the fact that not everyone will look on the off site forum and may think I am not doing much with the team. I will try and be more involved on this forum without giving away too much.

I think you are right as well in saying its time to really bring it to these bigger nations by becoming more organized. The only problem I have with this is that i'm not sure if we have enough users to fill these positions. Thats why I like using the off site forum as managers can come and go with their opinions. But in saying that I'm going to set up a more organised staff structure.

In an attempt to achieve this I would like managers to start contacting me if they are interested in being a Scout Manager or a Tactics Manager. I will also be contacting a few managers as well who I believe are competent for the position.

As everyone knows I work closely with C-Cat and already have direct support from his group. I also have excellent support from everyone on BB-Stats forum.

Thanks again Judge Nik, Hopefully this is a step towards becoming the greatest basketball country, in at least Buzzer Beater :)

If anyone else has more advice please let me know in this thread.

Thanks
