I haven't read all of the posts but I think I've got an impression. I voted "Yes" because I think it might make the game a bit more versatile and I can still remember that I was very tempted to get a second team in Barbados & Co. when I started playing this game and got very addicted. So implementing a legal option to do so would be a nice move (even though right now I probably wouldn't even use it because of not having as much time at hand as 4 years ago).

If we get a "Utopia"-Country, we could either make it a real country with a U21/NT or if the other option is included and we join other countries (and are not allowed to join our home country), we should definitely implement one feature that not only prevents the 2 teams to buy/ sell players between the teams but also - in order to prevent farming a little bit more - not allowing the 2nd team to acquire and train players from your home country. That would at least make it a bit harder for the farming teams.

And I'd like a 3rd option if the 2nd team is implemented: to be able to assign one of your HoFers as the new Manager of the team or something alike. I'd really like that - and something alike has (in a different context I think) already been suggested.

Anyway - great that such a big discussion is going on and so many people participate. There's still hope that BB will not go extinct

I would much prefer playing against experimental strategies than bots. Close to half the teams in Div. 1 in India are bots now.
That is a really, really good point! +1

I have one more reason for not minding other people creating teams in my country: There is already a massive multiaccounting, I'm not sure how much managers are in the game, there is a lot of 10+ season old teams, that probably have the same manager. Being a small nation, it's plain ugly. One guy probably has 4-5 teams, some have 2-3, in the div I only...

Being in my situation, I would welcome more teams.

Someone said something similar about Ghana, where all active teams were managed by the same manager?

I never thought about that but it makes complete sense. The reason cheaters get caught is because their illegal moves are obvious the the other teams playing in their league. But if you're the only active owner in a country, who's around to catch you?

So despite the unsubstantiated fears by some who think 2 teams will increase cheating it will probably have the opposite effect and help curb cheating in the micro-nations. And of course the reason some micro-nation team is cheating to begin with is likely because he's sick of playing Bots every week. I played my first season against a league full of Bots and it was easily the most boring of the 10 full seasons I've played. I wouldn't have played 3 seasons here if that didn't change.

I have not read through this thread in its entirety as well im lazy.

A couple issues that I have seen brought up and agree with are these:

- Cheating/farming
- Some people would have their countries overrun by other countries.
- What happens when supporter runs out?

Personally I dont really like the idea of a second team, at least this way. I just think timezone wise, language wise, cheating and such there would be too many things that would need to be done in order for it to be pleasant.

If it were to be implemented I think the best way would be:

- Instead of buying supporter, a one time purchase of $10(value can be reworked)
- Throwing everyone in a single world league, with players that dont have nationalities or have the nationalities of the country ones first team is from.
- Completely separating it from current server. Hell make it a whole other BB. Same rules, but everyone start off with a new team, put into divisions and leagues based on order of payment and the players that are on peoples original created teams are the only players in that league. No outside transactions, itll be like BB Season 1 all over again. Gametimes? Well it could be depending on the majority in the league. If majority are Canadian then games are at Canadian times. Or could make it so that the country that the winner of div 1 will have his countries gametime.

im not sure how B3 or the cup could work. That could be the one way that the two BBs are connected, the winner still goes to B3 and same with the cup winner, they would get crushed for the first 10 seasons of course, but eventually things would start to even out.

You can pay for the team at any time and just start in the next empty spot.

Thoughts?

BB going to two teams?

That would greatly increase cheating opportunities, not just double but possibly even exponentially. By far the greatest fatal threat to the game is cheating. Decreasing revenue can be addressed in a multitude of ways. Cheating could be addressed, but BB does not appear to do so. I have found more than one cheating team already and even made a report to BB … and nothing happens. The idea that “sooner or later we catch cheaters” is in no way sufficient. Unless and until BB gets serious about policing the game as it exists now, ANY idea that carries added cheating opportunities as a side effect is poison to the game … (though I can understand why some people would try to minimize the threat that cheating represents for reasons of their own).

When an idea generates a lengthy thread dealing mostly with how to try to limit the damage that implementation of the idea would do, with very little discussion of the benefits the idea would bring, that itself is pretty telling. The “solution” is worse than the perceived problem. There are far better solutions out there.

Even the idea of throwing every new team into one stinking stew and calling it Utopia does not impress me, as it merely represents a protected playground for cheaters to hone their skills and try out new and more creative ways of cheating, which they can then import to their BB team. And BTW, the biggest threat to small countries from second teams is not simply that the country will be over-run by foreigners, but that a cabal of foreigners will move in and take over that corner of the game, much as skinheads and survivalists run corners of Idaho.

Improving the fundamentals of the game (e.g. game scheduling; *boards; training) is a sounder way to increase revenue, with the added advantage of improving the game experience of every honest player.

*Sorry, but organization of the boards in this game is incredibly poor. Finding an interesting thread (such as this one) is purely a matter of accident, and finding a particular thread a second time appears almost impossible to this newbie. So if someone wants to engage me in a discussion, this is not a likely forum. How did I find this thread in the first place?

I have read all the posts … and find the argument against second teams to be compelling. I vote NO.
