Since we all seem to be boldly announcing our intentions

Introducing: My Ambitions a II.4 themed boy band for the old and bitter. Between remakes of classic hits like "She got the coal mine, and I got the Shaft (man that Shaft is one bad mother)" and new songs like "You look like a million dollars to someone, I hope", the My Ambitions arena tour is sure to be better received than staph infections and toenail clipping quiche.

You must be short of time today because this post had the makings of a Hrudey classic. Short of Time is the hidden track 11 minutes beyond track 13.

What can I say, Visionaries are better at loosing than me, and I wouldn't mind a road win or two to boost my home attendance. I'm still struggling just to loose every game, which might get thrown out the window after my cup run in over.

I can't imagine how anybody tanks all the way back down to Div IV and still stays active in the game.

You have to really enjoy training. The draft becomes fun until you get the crap prize at the end. You can put a mildly competitive team together for the salary floor or slightly over the salary floor to extend a good run in the cup.

I did something similar in HT, from the top league and ended up dropping as far as V, while rebuilding my roster again from scratch. Got back up as far as II before I lost the passion for that game. But Yuck is right - you've got to really enjoy training, and I think you've also got to have some very real goals for building your team while you do that. It would be the type of thing here to see if you can train the ultimate outside isolation / full court press team, for example. I personally couldn't see doing it just as a money-making venture - tank a season or two, load up, buy your way back up, lather rinse repeat. That is what would seem pointless and dull to me.

Yeah, if I thought there was a golden ticket at the end of the rainbow with the first pick in the draft, but I'm afraid that all that hard work is more likely to land you a Darko or Adam Morison as opposed to a LeBron or Jordan.

And scanning the USA transfer list for a decent 6'8-6-10 prospect is a joke.

I keep waiting to get you in a cup matchup. I don't think it's going to happen this season buddy. This next game could be dicey.

As for tanking down to D5....it's more fun to go BK and sign up a year later and start fresh. The only thing I miss is my arena size.

My next game is dicey enough that I could have everyone in the league over to play Risk. Except for not having the board or armies or whatnot. It's always the missing whatnot that gets you in the end. I miss the days where my team was at such a low level that drawing your team so early and getting knocked out didn't matter because my fans were happy that we were even invited to the Cup.
