We were coming with really bad enthusiasm

Wasn't enthusiasm reset right before this game?

Only for the teams that automatically qualified. The second-chance qualifiers only had the reset from the beginning of the season.

I've been thinking and thinking and thinking about this....
I didn't make a mistake by overlooking game shape, I just really believed he was still the best choice at start.
My formulas I use are pretty good, however they might be a little off when it comes to really low game shape...
Even now, trying to set the team in an optimum way, I still get him showing up as best option, even though he is still in inept shape.

I tried contacting the owner, but i got no response from him in more than a week

I would like to discuss with somebody that has more experience with very low game shape.

The player ratings are a pretty blunt instrument, for sure... but Bussières is only putting up 7.0-8.0 lately. Given that his owner plays the same tactics with the same enthusiasm every single game, we have a pretty well-controlled experiment. Bussières was putting up a 10.5 at the start of the season, an estimate of ~70% effectiveness for inept game shape seems about right.

There's no way we can't find someone who's 70% the player that Bussières is... maybe work with our U21 coach. Hopefully we can find someone to fill in for our other injured and out of form guards, too.

I would heavily consider raiding Garnier or Tasse from the U21 team. But agreed this is not the best of situations for us.

See, he also has his own first real game to play, the NT21 coach that is.
If he drops players he loses the players and the enthusiasm, then I keep them locked for a long time even though I only probably need them/him for one game, if any. Nothing guarantees they are better, in fact I think we have solution in hand already.

Not as strong as usually, but I still believe we have the best players available currently

Of course. But he's not in the Worlds Finals with a must-win game coming up. He's in a preliminary qualifier where we need only to finish ahead of two of Panama (41 users), Ecuador (16), and Puerto Rico (21). It's worth a discussion with him, at least.

Strongly, strongly disagree. This is what those empty roster spots are for, to bring in guys whose base skills maybe aren't as good, or weren't as good at the start of the season... but who are now the superior one-game option. Tonight is a must-win game. Bussières, Aubert, L. Tassé, and possibly even Caron (and of course the injured Joly) all look like they're not worthy of the team at the moment.

But good luck this evening anyway.

Yes, 56 points in the last quarter was the plan.

Well, one down, but the price was steep.

i'm not sure that's anyone that's really a good option for the NT. I don't see Garnier or Tasse being any better than the players already on the NT at this point, with the limited player knowledge I have. I think both could be excellent options down the road, but at this point I would be surprised if either really made the NT stronger right now.
