How dare you talk bad about the best BB manager the Lithuanian community has ever seen? If he copy-pasted the lineups this entire season It was obviously the best tactical decision imaginable! Don't you dare criticise him without a 5000 symbol analysis of what he did wrong! Without a shred of doubt, playing CT and losing vs TIE was sheer bad luck!

I don't mean to add oil to the fire, neither is this my sub-forum, but the game on Monday was higly emotional for me/our nation..

You weren't unlucky against us.. you were lucky that we played TIE, not expecting you to play CT, which allowed the game to be close - you can't call it unlucky when you play CT and lose. Your tactics were just super poor, you played copy+paste of what you played against Macedonia the week before, except changing from TIE to CT.

I was very disappointed, as I had spent hours analyzing your team and calculating and wondering what you would prepare for us, to then see that you just chose the "easy way" of going CT and ignoring the tactics entirerly.

China has the highest salaries, but that doesn't automatically make them "the best team in tournament" - 3 of their players are on the market and none of them would make a regular rotation for us. Salaries are not everything, not in U-21 nor in NT - as an experienced coach, you should know that. And if you analyzed their team/players even for 20 minutes, you would know that they are not unbeatable and your team could take them on, if you didn't waste all enthusiasm vs us.

Of course, luckily in the end we still won and preparation and risks I took, paid dividends for us, but a team of Lithuanian stature, going CT without tactical preparation in international tournament, playing for something or not, is embarrasing.

It will be interesting to hear from Lithuanian U21 coaches point of view the reason of the ‘copy paste tactic’ choice. It’s funny to say that you don’t mean to add oil to fire but you did quite the opposite, brought a barrel of oil and poured all over here 😄 what’s the point of that? Are you interested in Lithuanian U21 being the strongest we can be? It’s the end of his tenure for sure, don’t think he will join as a head coach anytime soon.

What is wrong with CT. Our goal was to get better seed spot before european championship group draw. We are now 16th by rating in Europe after the loss to you. It means Lithuania is in 3 seed. We gonna get two tier 1 teams in next european championship. The plan was to be in 2 seed spot. Do I explained to you why we did it?

You're right.. when I started to write, I didn't have the full message laid down yet. I do care about Lithuania though, to some degree - you are the team I always cheer for when Slovenia is not involved as I have been to your country a couple of times and dated a girl from Panevezys

But as I told your coach in PM, I was disappointed by the choice of CT and lack of tactical preparation, especially because (I had no idea about politics and drama in your U21 team) we collaborated quite a bit last season and at the start of current, playing multiple friendly games, exchanging information (I explained the box defensive tactics as I use them a lot) and thus thought that in our direct game, there was 0% for CT, but instead would be a great tactical fight with China as reward.

Of course I didn't ask for the TIE or any sort of deal, that's something I'm heavily against, but I also would expect a reputable and big team like Lithuania to have sporting desire to beat opponents fair and square and have at least a fighting chance vs China, rather than rolling over after a CT win.

Nice to hear this. I hope you have enjoyed Lithuania 🇱🇹 Slovenia and Lithuania is quite similar from basketball perspective, small countries with big hearts.

Getting back to your point of chosen tactics I think Ignazaz (assistant coach) has explained the reason for CT and your personal relationship with Paulius is nothing to do with chosen tactic . Your expectations were your own problems. By criticising Paulius you have opened the box of pandora and now all of the haters will now come out and pour shit on Paulius 😂
