The difference between his shooting ability at the start of his career to that at his last seasons where anormous.

The same goes for the ability of most of the NBA players - they got significantly better from their first days.

You are getting a player in collegue age. You need to expect of having him less mature in his skills.

And again I will quote those who said that there are not few users who get bored with current limited competitiviness of old teams, where all the flavout of BB managing gets just void, and due to that left the game or moved to lower leagues just to re-experience real BB-managing allover again.
This is what realy summarizes this topic.

This is not a reason why what I've suggested is not fit for this game, but just a wild throw hoping to make it non-existed.

This game is not NBA-2K, but it is a BB-managing based on NBA managing attributes.
As such, each feature of BB-managing in the NBA is at least worth a test for this game, or at least need a REAL reason why it does not fit.

What I am saying is that you can't assume that the draft is guard heavy, when it's actually big man heavy. The only point to train your own draft player is the merc bonus. If you want that, then you have to change the training focus of your team. If you don't want to change the training focus, you have to tank until you get lucky enough to get that good guard in the draft. You can't train two players in one spot anyway, if you don't want to sacrifice your teams success. Unless you are in a micronation:) You can train your starter + trainee and give leftover minutes at the training spot to the actual backup.
I just think this is such a trivial problem...

I don't remember where I assumed that the draft would be "guard heavy" , not "guard balanced" or even "guard light" but instead I hoped that it wouldn't be "guard non-existant" > I hoped that there would be one guard in the draft that could be trained to at least be a useful player, not an ATG, not a HoF, not a MVP, not a $7K starting salary, not a $6k starting salary, not a $5k starting salary but just one guard in the entire draft that was worth training.

PS: Your constant misquoting of what I say to try and prove your point is no more effective than your personal attacks. I want to have a reasonable discussion about the merits of improving the quality of the players in the draft, you just seem to want to win an argument no matter what it takes. First the ad hominom argument, now the straw man argument. You just like Sophistry not the truth. Why?

Lets stick to the stats, I will restate them again.

NBA
Team Draft Picks FA or Waivers Trade Total
ATL 4 9 2 15
BOS 3 5 7 15
CHA 3 3 9 15
CHI 4 5 4 13
CLE 4 4 7 15
DAL 0 7 8 15
DEN 1 4 10 15
DET 8 5 0 13
GSW 6 5 3 14
HOU 3 2 10 15
IND 5 3 5 13
LAC 4 6 3 13
LAL 6 6 2 14
MEM 4 5 6 15
MIA 2 9 4 15
MIL 6 3 6 15
MIN 5 3 7 15
NJN 2 7 6 15
NOR 0 5 10 15
NYK 3 5 7 15
OKC 7 1 7 15
ORL 4 3 8 15
PHI 8 2 4 14
PHX 2 7 5 14
POR 4 5 6 15
SAC 7 2 5 14
SAN 7 3 3 13
TOR 3 6 6 15
UTH 6 4 3 13
WAS 7 1 7 15
Total 128 137 169 434

So for the NBA only two teams have no draft picks, one has one, three have two, five have three, seven have four, two have five, four have six, four have seven and two have eight.

So for the NBA the range is 8, the median is 4.5, the mode is 4 and the mean is 4.266666666666.

I can't do stats for all the top leagues in BB, but I would specualte it is more like a range of 6, median of 1 mode of 0 and mean of 1.5 based on the two leagues I do know Australia and India and most of those are worthless 3k scrimmage scrubs or players from the dim dark past that are no loner important. How many players have their star as the player they drafted like Chicago, Miami or OKC? (If we had this discussion a season ago we could have added in a ton of extra teams like Cleveland, Charlotte, Denver and Orlando) I will be willing to bet it is very rare.
