Or for example make something like div 4 max players wage not more then 20k, div3-35k, div2 50k, div1- no limit...

Part of my point was not to place any restrictions on the teams in BB, except for the national teams. I don't believe the economic restrictions are necessary, as I don't see how a Div. IV team in the USA is going to make much more than $110K on home games, if that. That's about where I topped out when I won my Div. IV championship -- if others make more money in USA Div. IV, speak up.

Now, the issue is that if you stripped down a team in USA Div. IV but could still manage to pull in about $100K per week from home games, you could afford to farm for one superstar player as long as you sold him once he hit about $70 or $80 K, i.e. you could get him up in salary near what you make in revenue before he became too big an economic problem. However, I think your solution creates more problems than it solves. What happens when a player in Div. IV gets good enough to make $30K? Do you take him away from his team? Do you stop paying him more? Do you stop him from training to get better?

That's why I like the idea of controlling what the national teams do, not what the regular teams do. Want realism? The national teams should simply be kept from taking players from farm teams on the ground that such players don't play on the national stage, with real competitive teams, and therefore are not properly representative of their countries' basketball talent. If you want to stretch your finances and lose games to make a great player, fine, but you won't do that and get him on the national team. And have no fear that the BB equivalent of Kobe or LeBron will languish on one of these teams, because they can't afford to keep him and will eventually have to sell him to a real team (which can then put him on the NT).

i think the problem is, that the IV Divion teams with those NT Cracks are probably teams from II or I Div Managers, just using a diffrent IP.

Just get things straight! Who of you guys thought of training just one player when they started in BB? do you enjoy loosing all the time? would you even know how to train a proper player?

My honest opinion is no, no, no.. it takes time to understand the game, to understand how training works etc, so i highly doubt those "farm teams" are just a team of a happy guy, who doesn't have a second bb team.

just my 2 cents

If widespread cheating by people holding multiple accounts is really going on, then there is no reason for its effects to be confined solely to the creation of a few farm teams. The entire foundation of the game would then be suspect, since people might be trading players between their own teams, or GMs might be cheating, et cetera. So if you believe no one is chasing down cheaters, or that the success rate is poor, why are you playing at all?

I prefer to think that the people charged with making this system work are conscientiously trying to do that. I hear a lot of people saying there are multiple accounts, but I don't see any evidence of that, and I do see teams with suspicious purchases get banned all the time. If you have some reason to believe otherwise that is more germane than your "2 cents," put that in instead.

you should better prove it, else i would say you are just a second team from someelse ;)

how many from the Nt farm do it? Normally they train 3 players, which i did without Nt players ... later one i get two of them because i did it like that.

those farms plays several seasons before they got the money to achieve the players, and if we have lucky guys in germany with a great draft we help them to devolope this player with advise ;)

So did you have 5 millions at start to buy Fanesi? I just have 300k, and hshow me the nt "monster" you could buy with that ....

Yeah but that won't fit that good in your bad world.

but won't help ;)

In this case the players get trained to NT level on farm, and then the farm will buy another player and he get in team ... Then you could sell then again^^

If you like to see NT player in "normal" teams, they must to be attractive to then and this is just possible with reasonable salarys because the raise of the salary don't fit to the extra power a player gets for the training.

this is what i have said in the first moments I came to the forum at the second season end.

I have said that I hope that TOP league clubs will be able to afford to have at least few stars and all the other team almost equal... but seems it`s impossible... I was really afraid of situation that is in HT there divine players are garbage... this seems the same as Ronaldo wont play for any team in football world and LeBrone wont play for any team in Basketball world...

The easiest way would be to put more money in game for higher leagues and make wider gap with way more bigger promotion prize... That teams would have to get rid of few of their players then they relegate and have to buy few then they promote if they wanna at least compete in higher league... we need real GAP if we wanna that this would be more realistic... but don`t think we`ll ever get it... cause majority of user wont like this to happen. All this means that Top div teams should be able to pay something around 200k salaries more then they are able for now, so this means div2 teams 100k more, div3 50k more...

as well as staff system could get part of this, there could be wider gap in their salaries. maybe something like div1 is paying 100% of salary, div2 90%, div3 70%, div4 55%

it should be thought again and more developed but this would help be more realistic then TOP teams would concentrate in wining the games by buying trained plaers from lower divs those would have better area for training them and improve them self from that...

I don`t know if anybody likes this idea I have managed to think long long time ago and just now remembered about it...

EDITED: This would make TOP teams more thinking about training stamina or FT instead of growing skills more and more... And I understand and I know that this would make div3 team chances to win the CUP almost impossible... so please don`t point this out as a minus for this idea, better try to develop it more

afaik the BB said something similiar, thats why i wonder why they don't act in this case.

I would say a maximum salary around 200k salary won't crush the econonics, and maybe make real strong centers still sensefull ... or at least if a additional rebound skill on ikstens don't cost 30k extra(just a guess), which is nothing in comparision to the maybe additional 0.5 rebounds.

I dont believe these supposed multi-account farm teams are going to trade players with thier main accounts or do anything to jeopardize both accounts they obviously covet. I find it hard to believe that some new IV or V team cant win and dont really try to, but also know just how to train one of the best players in the country.

I prefer to think that the people charged with making this system work are conscientiously trying to do that. I hear a lot of people saying there are multiple accounts, but I don't see any evidence of that, and I do see teams with suspicious purchases get banned all the time.

Isnt it possible that both are true? I too believe in the efforts of these people are diligent. I also believe the people who have farm teams/multiple accounts are dilligent in not getting caught. Catching more criminals doesnt neccesarily reduce crime.

Isnt this a discussion forum? I thought the above poster made a valid point in expressing his opinion, which was completely 'germane' to this discussion. If someones on-topic 2 cents isnt welcome, why have discussion forums at all?

I think raising promotion money is probably a good idea, and that some extra funds ought to be given to teams that promote through the bot relegation process. For one thing, that increases the incentive to win games for everyone who has a shot at the title. For another, I believe player prices are increasing overall as more players and more money comes into the game, and fairly quickly, too.

I don't know how to address the issue of players who cost more than anyone can afford. It seems to me the only two ways are to reduce salary step-ups -- possibly even retroactively -- or to increase revenue, and in all fairness, increases should probably not be restricted to high-level teams. Reducing salary is probably the less inflationary option.

You're right, but complaints about the presence of cheaters don't really belong here. The GMs and BBs have told everyone a million times they go after cheaters, and they won't tell us how or to what effect. And I think it's legitimate to point out that no one is able to substantiate claims that cheaters aren't chucked out of the game. On the other hand, I had one in my Division IV league who got booted. So there's at least anecdotal evidence of that.
