UGG... finally about 98% pain free in the back... The issue is basically a prolapsed disc pushing right out on the nerve that travels down my right leg... So, sitting, driving have been incredibly uncomfortable up until now and when i stand up i still stuggle with pain shooting down my right leg!

Of all things, once back is 100% i will be starting pilates.. I have done some stuff with physio and can really feel the benefits of it, something different!

On the positive note, i have hit my first target weight loss wise and have smashed 12kg of excess baggage, not bad since Jan 19, considering for 3 weeks i have been unable to exercise. Just goes to show how important eating right is!

Even tho i am still overweight, i can really feel the difference 12kg off makes... cant wait to feel the difference once another 12 disappear!

Congrats man!

I've been on champix for the last 2 weeks and this has been my first day without cigarettes, will be a while before I notice any differences but these 2 weeks have definitely been tough.. Many random side effects and the weirdest dreams I have ever experienced. Apparently I've been quite repressed and introverted which is quite unlike me, or so says my colleagues and family.

One step at a time!

12 KG is an awesome amount well done. Just pick up 6 x 2 litre bottles of water and wander around with them for a while and you will see.

Well done guys. Leeroy and skyhookz, you guys are doing it tough but you know the rewards are there at the end. Keep it going.

I'm slowly recovering from glandular fever. Nasty stuff. The worse part is I now have to pull out of three running events I have paid and registered for for the next two months. One of the secondary complications with glandular fever is the possibility of rupturing the spleen with strenuous sports. I'd rather not risk that thanks. lol
anyway, looking forward to getting back into running sooner rather than later. The lack of energy is the worst at present.

well, i have a cocker spaniel dog that weighs about 12kg and i just look at that and think wowzers... that is what 12kg looks like! I can really tell the difference in my face, have lost a lot there, but then majority of weight loss i think has come from the legs, so cant really notice! i have lost a bit from the beer belly, not as much as i would like, but they say that is the hardest fat to get rid of!

Leeroy, good luck giving up those cigarettes mate!! Losing weight is a challenge, but nowhere near as challenging as the battle you face! Stay strong, be disciplined, and never fall into that '1 ciggie cant hurt' trap. I look forward to the day where you can come in and say you have gone 1 month without 1 :D

Sux about the glandular Matty! It sux to think you have thrown away $$ to participate in those runs, but taking the time out to recover 100% is the most important thing! You can always just run the 5kms in a couple of months and pretend you're in the run :P

Speaking of runs, anyone seen Run Fatboy Run, one of my all time favorite films :D

Yeah a good movie that one. I like the literal 'wall' towards the end. Great movie to motivate you to have a go at running regardless of your current fitness level.

My feet are still fairly screwed up so I can't run to the letterbox but I did do about two hours of cycling today.
