It's a great misfortune for Alaerts which would deserved pretty much if more belgian talents would have been trained outside. I don't complain because I've known since many seasons it won't be the case until GE stops turning in favor of inside oriented schemes... The difference is lighter than in the past but it still exists.
The GE doesn't really favor inside tactics. It's just that requires much more effort to train outside players than inside players and thus everyone goes for the inside option.
u find a ton of PF's who can play SF nowaday's. However, finding a PF with JS 14, JR 10 ID 16 SB 16 and RB 16 is hardly ever to be found. and why? because training JR takes so darn long. It's faster to train guards for inside skills than to train Bigs on outside skills. a guard only needs IS to be effective on an inside orientated attack. For a big to be effective, he needs some passing, JS, JR ( and preferably HA/DR too). that means you are nearly training a SF, hence the favor for the inside tactics. It's what the transfer market dictates, not the GE. And if you want to make an outside team, it means you have to wait long for a good playe rto come by and whats more their price usually is very high too.
so stop blaming the GE for the things which the transfer market is responsible for ;)
