I think it's better for you to consider punishing managers for losing games intentionally in national leagues which affect other managers' final standings. This guy did not make any harm to other users, just to himself and he doesn't deserve to be punished.

He didn't harm any other users but he did harm to the game. The game is on life-support as it is and to make a JOKE out of the FINAL game of the BB3 is just wrong. I wonder how many users are not logging in to the game after that?

Bah that's easily fixed, just use the standings at the end of the previous round if you really feel that strongly about it. Although, I might add that I would have NEVER picked Darkonza to win if I was in the top 3 instead of 4th.

And to answer your question, they made it to the BB3, they should get money. Also, I think it should go back to the old style of 1 and done if you lose. It was way more exciting back in the day.

Well then they should get 0 money in the qualification rounds. Why should Barcelona get money from the league when they play against, I don't know, the Stocksbridge Park Steels? Because you have matches like that in the Round Robin.

And I know for a fact that a walkover would not have happened if he would have to earn his spot every year.

I think you'd lose that bet. People can predict fairly easily when they are going to lose if the difference is significant. Darkonza complained about Enthusiasm disparity in B3 several times. It's not whether he gets a free pass every year, but whether he thought he really had a chance and evidently he didn't. I fully believe he would have done the same thing if he was the underdog. If he wasn't because the position was reversed I don't think he would have done it, however that would have been even more damaging.

Besides you only need to check here to see how baseless your point on removing the him getting a free pass is: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/162788/history.aspx. Unless you make the point that the extra money from B3 is what helped him succeed in his country year after year...but you clearly said that's completely fair.

Basically he would have missed only S28 and S29 at most, 2 seasons out of 11, big deal. Also presumably he won only 3 cups because that's what happens when you PON against a very strong team's POCT. I'd say it's naive to think he would have come out empty handed in S27 and S28 if he didn't TIE every game to boost his B3 chances...

Before we congratulate our new B3 winner, there are some B3 related changes to announce. Effective immediately, all B3 games will be played at a set enthusiasm of 12. No longer will smaller nation teams suffer an enthusiasm disadvantage due to shorter cup runs while larger nation teams will no longer be at the disadvantage of having to better manage their enthusiasm against tougher competition. The B3 is a tournament where the best teams in the world face off and we want them to be on a level playing field. May the best team win!
