I can't stand Lebron. But I'll tell you what.... 7 seasons in Cleveland is plenty. Ohio is not exactly a traveled destination. Other than "The Ohio State U" what the heck else is there? The Rock Hall of Fame.... Going to Florida was the right move. No income tax. Near perfect weather in the winter months. And seriously.... Cleveland=Not so nice place for a millionaire to live in. I will say this. The Celtics knock the Heat out of the play-offs and loose to the Lakers in 7 again!

I wouldn't blame lebron for this situation, at least not completely. The show about his decision was ridiculous but Cleveland can't blame him for choosing that late. They had the option of giving lebron a deadline to communicate his decision to cleveland so they could have enough time to sign up free agents players. They didn't and that was a bad management decision, now they are blaming lebron for that?!.

On top of that they had seven years to build a team around lebron. Never happened. They just needed one big talented guy in the paint and 4/5 decent players. Never happened.

So yes, all this show that lebron did was stupid and unnecessary only understandable from the commercial perspective. However, blaming lebron for the bad management of the cavs, the economical situation of Ohio etc... is not fair.

looks like having a big 3 on your roster is the quick way to get a ring, at least GM's think that way. all the teams are after theiw own big 3s. I wish it was that easy in BB. If you ask me who is the big 3 of my team, my answer would be "I don't know, never thought about it"

I agree with you on the management part that is why I posted the link to the article last night that I thought was fair and balanced in both directions. Obviously being from the Cleveland area I am a bit partial to that area but I can understand what you mean. Obviously South Beach is a bit more savvy then Cleveland however he indicates he is still going to live here and trust me the mansions around the Cleveland area are not shabby. More millionaires then you think live around the area.
If you want to use that argument though many NBA players do not live in the city that they play for so Lebron could have stayed in Cleveland and bought mansions anywhere he wanted to live. I don't think where he lived had anything to do with the decision. His off season will be spent with his "homey's" and family in Akron.

I did not blame Lebron (don't think), for the economic situation only mentioned that it would not help it any at all. I think as a Cleveland fan we will be fine. We are used to having scrub teams. It will be interesting to see what we do with all the extra money. Maybe they can share some with the Browns and get us a quarterback............and every other position.

E rock I agree on the 7 years but let's look at this fairly. the first 4 years Lebron was good and kept getting better but not great. His defense was pourous at the time, initially his outside shot was Inept (kudos to BB ratings) he had alot to work on coming out of high school. So really there was the last 3 years where he became a "superstar" but then management had alot of money tied up in giving him his full share when they extended his initial contract. Should something more have been done..........yes everything possible should have been done. Danny Ferry and his pathetic NBA career should have been out the door two years ago before he paid the big weasel err diesel to come and suck up 12 million last year and stink it up on the court. Worst decision ever when they should have been getting a younger stud like Stoudemire or Bosh then. So I agree but let's not act like Lebron has been a superstar for 7 years with no help. He has been paid like a superstar from the beginning but only recently actually stepped into those shoes. In addition the biggest management mistake was allowing him and his entourage to call the shots and act like a spoiled brat when things did not go his way. It is easy to look calm and collected when you get your way.

Will be very interesting to see if he can really be the assistant not the one calling the shots, not the one going coast to coast, not the one people are looking to. Maybe that is what he wanted but if that is the case he will.........never be the greatest. I can't stand Kobe but for all his "problems" he has had one thing that I can respect. Loyalty to a city to management, to his team etc. He could have left for more money but stuck around. He want's to be the man in LA and he is.

Hey you can't forget the Cleveland Clinic. If you ever end up with a weird life threatening disease you will end up at the Cleveland Clinic. You will love Cleveland then................lol. On a serious note.....hope none of you guys ever have to go there.

Kobe pulled his Lebron coming out of HS. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and refused to sign.

The Hornets left with very few options, trade him to LA for Vlade Divac

I didn't say anything about Cleveland area in terms of living.I assume that lebron would rather prefer to live in ohio than miami since it is his hometown.

No to Boozer-He was a pathetic liar who told management one thing and then bolted town. Should have never trusted him but they did.

He may want to move now I don't think they will be throwing any more parades for him when he is in town. They may throw something but not a parade. Seriously if I were him I would not have any of his friends or family anywhere around until things calm down.

I agree but things eventually will calm down. He just moved to another team, he didn't kill anyone ;)
