Keep in mind that players that shoot free throws at practice aren’t necessarily “training” on them. Practice is necessary just to maintain skill levels. (At my age, believe me, I know. I am a shadow of my former self. Sigh.) Training really means focusing on the skill to improve it.

now that`s true, but these are the pitfalls of language for non native speakers just like me.

but anyways, there is no opportunity of practice in BB, is there?

and just to avoid being misunderstood: I am not one of the revolutionaries on this thread, I'm actually quite content with the actual state. And I love the new things coming up in cross training, I'm sure it will drive Jozef Ka crazy....^^

I think the general assumption that practice just happens. It's a normal thing for teams to have practices when they're not playing games. It's sort of like breathing. But it's not the same thing as a focused training.

Here's where I could go on about how skills should naturally increase, especially with younger players, due to the natural improvement that come about from general practice, but I won't. I don't know if Experience grows just by virtue of a player getting older and being on a team. If so, perhaps this natural improvement could be seen in Experience growth. If not, then perhaps this adjustment should be made, too. I'm such a revolutionary.

But enough of this, back to free throws.

And most of the suggestions made would solve this issue, but nothing happens and sooner or later this game will fall apart because so many users quit because of the stagnancy we have for many seasons now.

Are we playing the same game? I started playing in 13th season and saw a lot of updates - from minor (roles, BBB prediction contest, updated commentary) to major ones (player salaries floor, no salaries during weeks without competitive games, BBB group stage, inability to sell the player right away - he has to be three days on your roster, competitors in BBB can't perform any more "divine tricks", now UPDATED TRAINING SYSTEM)...

So I guess yours is just a random rant because you are not satisfied with how FT issue hasn't been solved yet. I guess you didn't care if BBs would implement 100 new things - FTs are still not there! Let's leave the game, BBs are keeping the game stagnant!

(btw, last sentence was sarcastic)

So, over time, even atrocious free throw shooters make some.

I smell irony...

I just realized that my latest purchase for the upcoming season is just one the free throwers with terrific jump shot that never made a FT in his career.... I'm quite confident that there will be a pleasant surprise for him coming up in the next couple of weeks....

I think you should get a FT pop for every 5 JS or JR trainings you do... Shooting Jumpers, FT's, 3pters it's all the same in the mechanics of the shooting stroke.(except when Shack tried that underarm throw) So, yes...shooting 100 18 ft jumpers everyday would make you a better FT shooter.....When was the last time anybody saw Dwight Howard hit a 15ft jumper...doesn't happen too often because his shooting mechanics are all wrong, same for Shack...They have zero elbow extention and zero follow through....sure, if you just throw the ball at the basket some will fall but surely not 60%....

If FT and shooting jumpers and 3 pointers are really all the same, then why doesn't FG% or 3P% correlate with FT%?

They aren't all the same...the distances are different but it is the same motion of the arm. I am hoping you have played basketball before. If you have then you know that shooting a three and a FT are the same but you have to put a little more on it. It's all in the mechanics. I was taught how to shoot when I was 7 and my shooting stroke really hasn't changed since.
then why doesn't FG% or 3P% correlate with FT%?

All the great shooters have been really good FT shooters. Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Michael Redd, Larry Bird, Mitch Richmond, Steve Kerr....and so on....Somebody said Bruce Bowen.....what a joke....he wasn't even close to being a great shooter..
Perfect example...Go watch a Reggie Miller or Ray Allen DVD or video on YOUTUBE...3 pointer, 18 foot jumper a FT all the same stroke, never different just the distance changes....
