Marichal not EVEN in the 4 choices ??
He has played more othen as PG, not SG. And his stats are less high than the 4 first choices.
In fact if we consider the stats, that explains everything :)
Mees played several seasons as PG (training) yet he made the allstar selection as PF also. it doesn't really matter where they play. Anyhow, it's a random system and as it stands, the allstar game is purely for show. no merchandise is gained through it, it has no effect on XP of player nor has it any influence on HCA. the Allstar game formula should be changed, but it's hard to do so. if i'm not mistaken, there was a suggestion to have the managers vote for players of their conference to play in the allstar game. the conference that won the allstar game would then get HCA in the PO finales. that way, all managers would be urged to vote in the best players instead of just voting for there own players... however, the bad points about this idea were that a group of friends could all vote for the same players, thus manipulating the players on the roster. futhermore, a super strong team in a weak conference (who logically would get the best record) would then end up losing HCA that they had earned if the allstar game was lost. Also it would be troubling for divisions with less active teams/managers, etc...
either way, doesn't matter how u look at it, it's just a show game, with no importance or influence on the game. Ottevaere was the best SF for several seasons in the division that i played in (especially in III and II) yet he only made the allstar game twice. for me, the allstar game matches up players against eachother and could potentially expose area's of weakness that aren't as visible when playing in their own teams, since the manager can cover up those changes by changing defensif roles or play them out of position. So if my players don't make it, so be it. they'll be less exposed :P
