Here is my #1 pick... I spent 40k just about the whole season and was able to pick this guy with the 9th pick in the draft. I had him as my first choice. I'm pretty happy with him... ;)

im crying tears of joy, i put nothing into the draft and with my training plan i have to do ID for about 4- 8 weeks so he fits in, wont ever play in a leauge game, but i should make a little profit from him

Depends how you calculate profit. If you pump 4-8 weeks ID into him whats the most he'll sell for? I am 99.9% certain you can pump the same 4-8 weeks ID training into almost anyone else and improve their value by more than this fella.

At best this guy is going to fetch $100-200k with respectable ID? If you can get you hands on a partially trained 19-21yo I am sure you can earn much more than $200k by improving them with the same 3 levels of ID.

I think I won't spend money in scounting this season, because there is only 2 players with perinnial star potential and no one with a higher potential in my draft class...
Really disappointed...

That's a high potential 18 yo player. If he got 2 levels more IS you would have been extremely happy right? Or if SB was reversed with IS you would be happy as well.

I don't really get why you're whining. This is an awesome draftee, probably belongs to the top of all drafted players. If you train him a bit he will be worth a lot.

The problem is that there is in any case an high % to draft a terrible player even if you put money into scounting, that's why eventually you can think that spend 0 is the best policy...

and there is eventually the possibility to get rich through the draft, so that you could think that spending much money is a good policy.

if you repeat your draft ten times, the possibility to get rich is less than the possibility to loose a lot of money, that's because there are too many dependent variables in the draft pick, IMHO

i could say that this year could be the first one, where i don't masde money with it - and normally i got an medium Pick(6-8 position) in a very active league. So the circumstances are really not that bad for the draft, especially with the high prices this and last season.

Ok i don't spend much, but 10k for scouting is normally not a loosing sitution, with less active opponent and/or luck you also could get the money for 6-7 draft in one season.

So why i can noit argue with the best case, if you argue with the worst case, and that a draft isn't a calculated buissness you also see in the NBA.
