Why don't you like the cash prize?

yeah but would you go into the forum, just because at the beginning of the season you get ask which team would get champion?
I believe this won't happen, if someone make a game like that an write to the teams in his league i thing the answer could be different - and in active league such a discussion comes nearly naturally :)

No manager that takes this game even remotely seriously is going to throw a match to win a 50k prize on the off-chance (or even gauranteed chance) that the person he picked to win the league actually wins. And you say that in an inactive league it is an advantage, not necessarily so, as there may be less active teams but there will be just as much competition between these teams. Also, 50k is not a big advantage, it is simply a novelty prize.

Getting teams to pick a winner prior to the end of the season for no reward is like playing poker with play chips. There needs to be some incentive to pick the winner, even if it is something as small as 50k.

As for it being hard to implement, I don't know if it is hard or easy to implement. Obviously I would rather have things such as a new draft system implemented before this, but that doesn't mean this would not be a good, or at least decent, addition to the BB site.

Once a fortnight I get together with a few mates and we play 5 bucks per person poker. so the winner gets about 50 bucks, which isn't really much in the grand scheme of things. But that 50 bucks makes a big difference, it makes sure people don't be stupid and go all in for no reason etc.

In the same way, awarding 50k isn't too much money, but it is enough that teams will try to pick the right team, and it is not too much money that it would be worthwhile throwing a game just to win that 50k.

How is the cup relevant? Only the winning team gets 50k, so throwing a match doesn't get you anything.

There seems to be zero upside for this suggestion and I cant figure out why you passionately want to link a meaningless monetary amount to a very obscure suggestion.

Now Im all up for betting but this seems a bit far fetched. What about $50k if you can guess the name of your draft pick correctly or better still spread betting on the height of your draft.. (i'd go over 6'8" if it was a PG and under 6'3" for a Center) :D
