Can anyone name who the captain of their favorite NBA team is? Do NBA teams even have captains?
(Actually, they can have them...
"Section 111-The Captain
a. A team may have a captain and a co-captain numbering a maximum of two. The designated captain may be anyone on the squad who is in uniform, except a player-coach.
b. The designated captain is the only player who may talk to an official during a regular or 20-second timeout charged to his team. He may discuss a rule interpretation, but not a judgment decision.
c. If the designated captain continues to sit on the bench, he remains the captain for the entire game.
d.In the event that the captain is absent from the court or bench, his coach shall immediately designate a new captain."
The captain of the Chicago Bulls is... Luol Deng!
Anyway, if we have captains, maybe that means that we can start adding odd technical fouls related to non-captains having unauthorized conversations with a referee. Otherwise, I'm not sure how this adds to BB except as garnishing. But maybe it's fun garnishing that adds to the experience of the game, sort of like team managers declaring which of their players they love the most. (I think having a team captain is better than getting the name of your favorite player tattooed on your arm or, well, anywhere else on your body for that matter. If we don't get team captains, maybe you can buy a goldfish and just name the goldfish after your favorite player.)
Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!
