Unless you have a 5 or 6 season promotion plan then it is more cost effective to buy 27-28 year old players. I am sure the amount of competitive and active owners with promotion plans that take this long to develop is a relatively small percentage. The net loss that a team would take by buying a 27 year old and then selling him 2-3 seasons down the line is much smaller than the loss a team would take buying 23 year old players and then dealing them when they are 30. I do agree that trainees are necessary, and they too have a substantial economic impact. However, I do not find it suitable to build a team at the IV level around a young team. The talent costs to much, and you can't effectively train all of them. I also agree that 27-31 year old players do not sell for as much, but in comparison, they do not cost as much either.

Thanks for your post. I understand what you mean I just don't think It's as successful as My way, but hey you have your ways and I have mine. Maybe i just feel like Keeping players for longer but either way works. Of course if you ever want to get to the really high leagues don't you think you have to get younger players and train with them rather then switching off every 2 or 3 seasons?

if you train all your player you didn't make it to the top leagues, because you should focus on a type of trainee(like Guards and C). And yes you could later switch your training regime and hold your old trainees, but when you are fit for the future your old trainees are probadly overpowered for the "now" which isn't good either. And when you stop training them at a reasonable quality, you need to replace them in two season because they are to weak for your new targets.

Try to have young players for their skill level, you are training but also don't hesitate to replace your other players and don't be afraid of older guys when they fit(the skilldowns are slow, and i think you loose more value betwen 24 till 26 then betwen 30 and 32 in totals for players of the same quality or at least the difference isn't that big)

Actually I have a 18, 20, and 23 year-old. And most of what your saying dosen't make any sense. And what I am doing as a coach is working for me so those "old" players stay until I get some trainees.

If that works best for you thats fine, dont change anything. You have your ways i have mine. I'm just saying that My PG is younger and probably just effective as yours with a much lower salary.

Are you really saying all of this with a straight face? While yours is aspiring to be that guy, his is that guy! His 26 year old has 5 fulll seasons after this season before he has to start worrying about being old, and dropping in ratings. If in the next 5 seasons, he hasn't promoted at least twice, and cycled through his players a couple of times because hes advancing, he will be facing much bigger hurdles than a 31 year old PG.
