Slow paced offenses need better handling. For countering FCP, you also need good handling. So if your handling is really great, I guess slow offense is good against FCP. But if your handling is average or worse, I think slow paced offenses will just give more opportunity to your opponent to steal the ball.

but wont a fast paced offense give him some nice and juicy balls to steal??
I think that a slow paced offense is a better option against a team using FCP coz the players will be careful while passing the ball and hence the opponent will get less chances of stealing the ball....

logic is simple; the longer you play with the ball, the higher possibility of giving it away..

check what BB-Charles said about this years ago -> (55427.2)

"..In the current game engine, a slower-paced offense involves more dribbles and passes, and therefore there are more chances to turn the ball over, leading to more turnovers.."

but they adjusted it also basing of logic, that an patient offense(i mean not the tactic) will include less risky choiches so that fast paced tactic are more TO proone within the same time. In the end i don't see differences betwen them, but most to against an FCP are in the beginning where a slow offensiv handles the ball safer.

I agree, but i experienced that slower offense helped me closing the gap against better teams, and got better reuslts against worst teams with faster pace.

yeah i would agree on that with you :)

I would say the advantage of pace are like that:

fast: you maybe take even a bit more difficult shot, while the FCP defensiv is in transition to a normal def. Such shot should be still pretty good.

slow: maybe you act more safe with the ball, which makes it a bit less TO proone.

But anyway, if you had to worry about it i would rebuild the roster cause FCP is in my eyes an highly inactive defensiv, if your don't have 1-2 TO machines in his roster.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Due to my stamina also playing a factor in this game, I think I should consider a slower paced tactic shouldn't I? Such as Low Post, or Motion? Also, I noticed there will be a mistmatch against my opponent if I play my Best handler/outsider shooter/defensive player in the SG position. Im tempted to do it but hearing that I should put my best handler as PG should I reconsider this factor?

but the logic of using a slower paced offense is justified like this-
if you have a team with the guards(including SFs) with good handling and passing and big men with a decent handling and u run a slower paced offense then ur guards will be careful when handling the ball and when passing it to a fellow guard or big man and the ball when given to the big men, they will make sure that the ball stays in their hands till they shoot...
while in a faster paced offense, the players try to run into the opponents half and score and in that haste they might loose the ball to their opposite counterparts who will at their faces for the complete court...
so if we go by this logic FCP is tackled better by slower placed offenses...

well if the handling is bad then slower paced offenses will do more harm than good even if u are countering M2M...;)
