Some very big acquisitions being attempted by 2 of the Great 8 Teams.

Northcote Slammers have bid 500K on the 184K a week beast Lucas Frost and Team Akuma has bid 1.08mill on the 202K a week Kye Duffill.

Just read Akumas press blog.

Many seasons ago I almost sent myself bankrupt by buying in beasts during the All Star Week.

Akuma (and Fishy in the ABBL) have gone and brought in the beasts before the damn season has even started.

Akuma can't win 3 games a week with just 4 or 5 players no matter how good they are.

A season can be a long time period when your bleeding money.

I wonder whether Akuma is reliant on getting a regular income from the cup for a period of time or whether he has enough cash stashed away to go the whole season

Totally agree

Adams Guns Must have at least 10 mill in the bank. How far Adams Guns if they try?

Even if one was to look past Adams Guns (brave move), Akumas roster has no depth and must surely at some stage put a strain on his finances.

There will be plently of cheap wins against him as you cant stretch 4 or 5 players over 3 games a week even if you were just to train game shape.

Duffill wont be worth any where as much in merchandise if his game shape goes to ruin and he cant make the Aussie team

Likes of Windies last season had 9 or 10 handy players yet were still able to save 100 to 150 K per week and use this money to buy in beasts when it really mattered.

As long as teams do not concede and instead put there best line ups up against him each game, I reckon he is going to be in trouble as he wont get a home court advantage in the finals.

Then again if he still has millions in his sky rocket and can afford to bomb out in the early rounds of the cups, then I guess he could realistically win most of his games

Promises to be an interesting season.

I was close a couple of times to buying in the swingman I wanted, but given my primary focus will be on training I might wait a week or two first

If you dont already hold the record for the most promotions to the ABBL you certainly could set one.

What do you make of Akumas move?

TAK has proven to be quite the 'Cunning' manager in the past.... haha... ahhh see what i did there?!?!

errr... anyways, he has proven to be clever in his management in previous seasons.

Whilst all of what you say is true, he might just do what he did last season - tank all away games, forfiet the cup and play his super lineup on his home games.
maybe sneak in an odd away win here or there, finish 3rd or 4th, and he still goes into the finals with that same lineup.

Come finals time, doesn't matter how badly his regular season has gone, as long as that lineup is in the final's, im worried. He has a proven history of thinking outside the box, so im interested to see what he does.
