your PG played as a PF in at least one of your gales this season?

After checking the records, one.
And it's safe to say he didn't have the best of games.

that's not possible.

It should be a bug, players won't be selected for that position for the ASG if they didn't play the required minimum of x games this season.
You can't be an Allstar when you played 1 awesome game at 1 position.

it might be a bug yes, or it might be intended that way, but I suspect (not sure!) that once a player has played enough games, no matter his position, he is put into the all-star-bag,
then the system goes over the average performance of the player for the position(s) he played. It might be very possible if he played only 1 game, and performed very well at a given position, he will be selected...
I'm not sure the system works this way, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did either...

Following Juicepats' post I saw somewhere, there will be a bonus for players of teams that draw big crowds, or in other words, teams that draw bigger crowds, have more fans and fans are more likely to vote for a player of their favorite team. this way it might be possible the player with less performance still makes it...

Is all-star voting based on performance numbers alone or do skill helps get added in somehow?

I'm curious on how my PG.......was voted the 4th best PF in the Great 8. Shouldn't he be under the PG category?

He did play PF 3 games (and he may have played SG more than PG this season).

If they were simulating how the ASG voting is done, he might have been classified as a PF based on his early season games.

He put in his worst performance of the season. A 6 footer PF with no inside skills, not recommended.

I'm pretty sure there is a bug in the All-Star voting. I already posted in the Bugs forum a couple of days ago :
(36608.5)

Basically the voting system is either not considering the "minimum number of games played" pre-requisite or is considering stats that a player obtained in a previous team before a transfer. Or both.

My team had a player selected for the ASG as SF that I just bought and has played only 1 game, and another player that never plays but brought good stats from his previous team and almost got selected as PF. Although I'm honored to have my players called up, I don't think it's correct to be like that.

I don't know. But based on the outcome of the votings I'd think the skills are not looked at (that hard)...
