note the new engine is only for scrimmages now, so that it can be fully vetted, we don't need no maverick game engines going rogue on us

Major bonus points for the elections-style humor ;)

That's clear and I knew that.

I didn't want to post it in "suggestion" forum but here simply because now we have more possibility to play with the best players on the field simply telling to the coach to not sobstitute them. Compare to the past, this is a big advantage imho, that's why I tell you to consider the option to decrease a little bit more the effective defense.
I told you about the fouls also because I didn't find any difference compare to the other games, all the stats are similar to other games ;)

I guess my defense ratings are a little bit higher in the new engine, I even played a PG as PF and still I had decent inside defense ratings with a 2-3 zone.

The 'do not sub when in foul trouble' option works great. One of my subs played 34 minutes untill his 6th foul.

My team committed a lot more fouls.

Also, I have a suggestion for the GE. My team was up by 20 at the end of the first qurter using Run and Gun. We then fired up 8 consecutive 3's to begin the 2nd quarter, missing all of them and taking an average of 1 milisecond to move the ball around. Okay it was more than 1 milisecond but you get the idea. I think there should be some sort of intelligence that whne a team gets a big lead it starts to look for higher percentage shots or at least use the more of the clock.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Didn't see much differences in the game engine yesterday (well, I only had 8 players and one got injured during the games so the substitutions were quite limited) but I liked the fact that I could keep my players in Foul Trouble on the court. Helped me to plan the number of minutes played by everybody.

With 1:30 left in the second quarter of my friendly tonight, there was a flurry of substitutions as my various possible SF players tried to work out who should be on court, and who off. I'm guessing this is a result of the new algorithms to improve the substitutions. But it looked very, very strange.

(8283945)

Ermin Bogataj was replaced by Jonathan Chahal at SF
Ermin Bogataj comes in to replace Eric Dickinson at PG
Jonathan Chahal was replaced by Eric Dickinson at SF
Eric Dickinson was replaced by Jonathan Chahal at SF
Eric Dickinson comes in to replace Rudolph Al-Shurman at SG
Jonathan Chahal was replaced by Rudolph Al-Shurman at SF
Rudolph Al-Shurman was replaced by Bruno Cocq at SF
Adam Casstles brought in for Guillem Machimbarrena at PF
Cosme Niz came off the bench to replace Wil Cowan at Centre

So before the substitutions, my five were:
Dickinson
Al-Shurman
Bogataj
Machimbarrena
Cowan

After it, I had:
Bogataj
Dickinson
Cocq
Casstles
Niz

This could have been done with five substitutions:
Niz for Cowan
Casstles for Machimbarrena
Cocq for Bogataj
Bogataj for Dickinson
Dickinson for Al-Shurman

Instead Jonathan Chahal got involved, and nine substitutions took place at the same point in the game! I think the mechanism for substitutions needs some tweaking...

well this is because of the lack of "player A swaps with player B" if we had that in the match viewer we would have done

Ermin Bogataj switches positions with Eric Dickinson
Eric Dickinson switches positions with Rudolph Al-Shurman at SG
Rudolph Al-Shurman was replaced by Bruno Cocq at SF
Adam Casstles brought in for Guillem Machimbarrena at PF
Cosme Niz came off the bench to replace Wil Cowan at Centre

and I dont think there is any quicker way to announce the changes at least using only pairwise swaps....

our algorithm is to do all the swaps you need first, then do the straight subs.

Is it going to be a way to choose to not to exchange positions so my SF, 29 years old does not take away training minutes from my 18 years old PG?

? dont put your SF in the depth chart at PG and he wont get swapped in... swapping is no different than subbing in terms of who gets minutes.

mmm.. thats true but actually that would result in more output on average as most substituions are a change at only one or two positions.. this 5 new position thing is the exception not the rule.
