To be honest, I know we discussed this over and over. And I know you asked the BBs.

.... BUT, the evidence is astonishing.

It reminds me of a (very) geeky parable.

A millionaire makes a bet with a mathematician and an engineer. He says that he's got a fair coin (50% probability of head or tail), he flips it 5 times and it comes head all the times. Then he asks the guys what is the probability of getting head again. The mathematician says 50% and (obviously) loses...

The thing is, practice and theory are not the same thing...

We know that the attendance bonus is not meant to be there. But one way or the other everyone is getting boosts during the playoffs.

Perhaps it's just the fact that all matches are big (i.e. you play teams high in the table), but there is something systematic about it.

Last season my arena had 19980 seats. Home games averaged about 15000. When the playoffs began I sold out every game, including game three of the finals after losing game 2. An extra 4980 seats without any expanation? Must be playoffs. Or...?

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

i think the playoffs has to do something about it,

i have a question has anyone notice, that if your team always gets to the playoffs there are times you wont get a full house on your first round home game.

could it be
1. people know youll surely win against a weak team ?
2. people alrady expected you to be in the playoffs but might lose the game that they rather watch the second round
3. simply they know the 1st round is boring especially if your against an 8 seeded yeam like us here the 4th place?

another is there a possibility that a first time a team goes to the playoffs he will get a full house? just like the kings first time in the playoffs but lost to the jazz.

there is so much anticipation and excitement that tickets at the bleachers were selling 3 or 4x the price?

Tell me when Anfield, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge (good example considering price of tickets) and the Emirates Stadium arent packed to the rafters on the opening day of the season.

Are you really telling me Basketball fans dont bother showing up to support their team.. if thats the case then I would question the loyalty of fans of this sport.

Edit - wasnt aimed just at you Shoei!

i understand no offense taken,

im just taking things to consider,

its like in the season, if you watch jordan and bird on a season game i find it to be really jam pack

but if it was the clippers then having loy vaught and bunch of losers going agianst the bulls , if it was in chicago i bet it ownt be a full house but if it was in the clippers i bet they would get attendance

i dont know if it was the same concept as applied??

It does seem strange that your team had a miserable opening night even though you won the title, while mine sold out after winning the title. I did notice that you heavily increased your number of seats during the playoffs, so maybe that has something to do with it. Also, your first game attendance number was higher than the other regular season games I can see from last season. Leads me to believe that attendance for playoffs does get a boost, no matter what others might say.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Im on the fence about playoffs getting a boost because i was only 2 luxury boxes short of a full house in a Private League game just after the final.

I would therefore point the finger at the Season Ticket Holders distribution within the JBBL. If over time the soft cap for supporters is 4000 then i believe that the better teams should be able to go above this if there are many newer teams/bots in the league. As these are replaced by humans the STH that they accumalate should come directly from teams in the same league thus creating the same balance within.

Otherwise BB is essentially saying some Divisions are more popular than others and then there becomes disparity in potential earnings throughout all Division 1's.

Ie if Bundesliga Human faces Bundesliga Human both have STH of 3500 they can sell out a 25,000 stadium.

If JBBL Human faces JBBL Bot/New manager then I would like to think that the JBBL has as many supporters as the Bundesliga and if a new Manager has a start up of 300 then if the average in the league is much higher they should be distributed amongst the other teams. As the new manager establishes himself and lets say starts the next season with 1500 STH then the 1200 extra will be deducted from his rival conference or division teams.

both teams are likely to have won the game before in the playoffs. unless away fan happiness isnt part of the attendance calculation, then just ignore me.

Be honest to yourself - would you rather see a dramatic play off game or just a calm one in regular season? I guess fans are just like us after all, except the luckiest ones of them can throw powerful dunks in a game when you don't have enough players to play.

There is no playoff attendance bonus.

it may have another name, but the attendance in playoff semifinal and finals is much higher that in regular season and playoff quarterfinal
maybe that's because wins in playoff game have a bigger effect on attendance?

this is what happened to me

04/11/2008 8180814 7331 891 140 7 8369 Quarterfinal
08/11/2008 8265890 8562 927 141 7 9637 Semifinal
11/11/2008 8338234 8790 965 143 7 9905 Final (Game1)
16/11/2008 8338236 6856 882 140 7 7885 Final (Game3)

well you look at that

maybe you should try reinforcing your ticket selling , there has to be a large reason probably scalpers are making profit at very high ticket price :D
