What about fictional 3-2 zone that has two "guards" (SG and SF) who have OD/ID combo 14/14 and 16/14, would that help with ID also? Would that make very top defence in combination with two bigs that have good OD (let's say 10 at least) and top ID (17 or more)? Would it be the best usage of ID of those guards or ID in those guards would not help so much?

Second Team:
Black Forest Boars
A guards(pg/sg/sf can control the whole defense)

He can't! I have the best allround defender Buzzerbeater ever saw and even he struggles to shut down the opponents offense. The engine tries to avoid him as good as possible. Currently he's playing as a PG and he only defends 4.7 shots/game! The reason for this is that almost everytime the engine calculations "shooting or passing?" it ends up with passing.

I have never had od that high as 14.. I had 10-12

You can't compair my team with yours. You're playing in the V. division, I play in the third. Almost every team in my league has a player with JS 16+ or/and IS 15+. To stop these guys I need stronger defense than you. Your opponents have maybe JS 11 and IS 12. So your defense of 10-12 would be enough. But try playing against stronger teams and they will crush you.

I know if you get a dynamic sf with Id 13 /sb 12/od 15 you run them off the floor pretty much. With one man

This guy looks like a little kid compaired to my allround defender. And I say it once more, he can shut down a player and make his life misrable, but he can't defend two or three players at the same time.

And here we are back again at the starting point. You have to balance your team. I have one of the best in-the-paint defenders but I can't use him effectively because of his teammates. And it wouldn't help me if Sutherland has ID 20 and SB 20. One guy can't control the whole defense...

this is something I found out for myself as well. but not just on defense but on offense as well. balance is a key to success imho.

And those that have been following a 3-2 defense game knows that the positions are not carved in stone. A guard may defend inside and a big may defend at the perimeter. So secondary skill will matter in every game.
I have been using three PG's for my 3 and have tried getting as high secondary skills as i could.

Big men do often contest the mid-range and longer jump shot in the 3-2, both from my experiences running it and going against it. Likewise, the player defending as a C in a 1-3-1 will actually quite frequently defend against jump shots as well, especially if you're playing a rival and his PG has the innate ability to draw fouls every time he freaking misses a shot, not that I speak from experience or anything.

I'm wondering if its something like this for MtM (guessing of course)~
40% 30% 20% 10% 5% .. or maybe its more like 45% 30% 15% 6.5% 3.5%
It's very possible. I should check how the def rating were calculated in Coach Parrot but I believe there is a contribution to the team rating from each position, it's just that in some cases it is negligible.

Also I'm fairly sure in CP SB isn't accounted for as a contributor to the team ID rating (or the effect is extremely small), but this might be due to a number of factors:
a) SB has been boosted since CP regressions were run and the effect is not so negligible anymore
b) SB was very unpopular in the past, therefore there were less players with high enough SB to estimate the coefficients correctly

I'll reply again to this when I have the time to go through the Coach Parrot excel spreadsheet so that I can post how the contributions are estimated in there (again, SB will be completely wrong for the above reasons)
