i commend you for not despairing and hitting the "reset" button.

the good news -- and this applies to Pappy's Riverdogs as well -- is that the players who got hit with early- and mid-season injuries should be in great game shape come post-season.

Sort of, it seems like Utopian teams have made the market for guys between 10-20k in salary an extra 100-150k higher than their Transfer Price Estimate.

Except when I got relegated I got punished so bad attendance-wise, that I basically didn't save any money the first year when I was hanging on to Goss + Nielsen.

Ouch. I remember being shocked with how low my attendance was from being the 6th seed and winning the relegation match. Afterwards I was thinking I would have been better off if I had lost the relegation match. But maybe not.

Yeah, the relegation penalty is brutal. I have a 20k arena, my prices are literally at the floor to keep attendance reasonable and I can barely field a D.III roster!

But promotion bonus wears off around the all star break, right? So so should this nonsense, right??

i was a witness to Coco's crowds, if that is the word for the small gatherings that happened to show up when he played at home. if this is another aspect of the game subject to random selection, then Coco got stuck with the most miserable fan reaction i have ever seen. Steve (Bruins) never seemed to take the extraordinary hit Coco did . . .

in your case, though, attendance could improve by getting a PR guy who knew how to get Ilmar's face out in the public. Any player who has more fouls than points in his career is special and could do much to promote fan enthusiasm.

He also appeals to an untapped demographic of 50+ year olds that still think they can ball hard.

Wow, two cup match ups that pit NBBA teams against each other tomorrow. The herd begins to thin...

Meanwhile you and 'In Your Face' were gifted D4 opponents.

64 teams, 11 of them are NBBA. And 4 of those 11 are playing against each other. I was looking at the prospective field and thought, "There are a lot of D3 teams still alive, everyone's probably getting a good draw." Nope.

10inch Vertical is playing a D2 team. Only 4 D2 teams are playing against each other. So it is likely all of the D4 teams are gone, and most of the D3 as well. The end of good draws is near.

Hmm, let's see some history.

Season 27 (current) - 11 NBBA teams, 2 matchups
Season 26 - 11 NBBA teams, 2 matchups
Season 25 - 8 teams, 0 matchups
Season 24 - 10 teams, 1 matchup
Season 23 - 9 teams, 0 matchups
Season 22 - 14 teams, 1 matchup
Season 21 - 11 teams, 1 matchup
Season 20 - 11 teams, 1 matchup
Season 19 - 13 teams, 0 matchups
Season 18 - 11 teams, 1 matchup

Past 10 seasons, and the last two have been the unluckiest.

To be fair, Jista did play an annoying asshat that may end up in the NBBA next season last night, so he kind of earned a break.
