I understand those real world issues - Israel is a part of Europe when it comes to football... Pretty silly considering the regional disconnection, but if some people want to hate each other, who am I to judge... It would be nice if in BB those idiotic stereotypes would not be applied...

To be honest, if those real world issues are a problem in this game we are probably better off without those users/countries.

I would not want to share my hobby with people holding an eternal grudge against each other.

I'm pretty sure I can kick you team's ass (which is doing quite well in Spain DII) with my team, which is on the verge of being relegated from DI in Iran.

I think its not too hard to understand- religion sucks and in a few hundred years everything will look different. Catholics and Protestants get along pretty well now. But religion and politics have no place in an online game.

I share ur hopes und don´t like nationalism neither. But the sad fact is, that we still live in a world where it exists, and even strengthened again. So u can either be idealistic, or u can thinking about handle the mess. Because leagues created against antipathy between the included nations don´t only effect talk climate in forums, but could also distort the sporting competition (e.g. last Game day, nation 1 and nation 2 don´t like each other, and player of nation 2 plays against another user of his country and has the possibility to gurantee him the relegation while putting a player of nation 1 into decline (not sure if I use the right words here)).

New example: There is a suggestion merging Austria with Germany. History makes this difficult, so maybe merge with Switzerland would be better. If the Austrians decide to take it with Germany (I hope they won´t), it would be self-evident that there has to be a new, unloaded name for the whole thing, and of course not "Great-Germany". It may be "only history", but it´s a great part of the identity of many Germans, and "fun in a internet game" doesn´t coexist well with "unpleasent associations of the past". (I know the example is very obvious, but i can only judge for my own feelings. Nevertheless it could show that "history" is not a abstract thing one can forget because "it´s the internet", but should be taken into consideration).

So all i wanted to say: Ask the players in affected countrys directly, what they want. As u´ve seen, Indians would vote for South-East Asia, maybe there would also be solutions with other complicated issues. For sure it´s a bunch of work, but only the effected nations themself can state clearly all problems and wishes not considered by foreigners, because they know their history best.
