As mentioned here (in this thread), there's no reason at all why Japan's a "small nation" - other than that the game actually promotes a high level of turnover with nations that aren't on the large side. It's unlikely that Japan would ever be a 'big' nation, but it beggars belief that it's not in excess of 100 users.

Spot on. Players getting crushed in their first few months doesn't help at all.

As someone suggested, put all new teams no higher than Div. III. Give people a chance to build up their arena and roster, and, most importantly, start off with a win streak. We had a team a couple of seasons ago starting in Div. I where the salary floor is $200k. Naturally, they dropped out. It's such a small change that there is absolutely no reason not to do it.

Except... I suspect that the BBs - except marin - are largely inactive.

Why dont the developers put the game up for sale? Find sb who is willing to take a risk and get this mess back on track again...

I doubt very seriously that Wolph has anything to do with anything concerning the BBs and this game. One user's drunken (or just incredibly poorly spelled and written for someone who claims to be a translator) whining and conspiring isn't going to be even a minor motivator in decision making. I will agree that now that the original developers have real jobs and real lives they are not as involved in the daily machinations of running the site. I also believe they still are active in discussing the future and present of the game. To believe otherwise and still play this game would be just about the dumbest thing anyone could do. If you really believe that the game has been forsaken, how could you possibly continue to waste your time being involved with it? It would be like turning on the TV each night waiting for a new episode of Leave it to Beaver and then complaining that it was a rerun again.
