Part of me wishes Leeroy, Naker, zyler and Latino all went for the gig.

Naker would talk about recruiting 22 year olds

zyler would have to fend off suggestions he would be too busy having threesomes with hand models and organising Internet in his home. He would also recommend that all talented draftees be sold overseas so they are trained better and the newbie has more munniiieezz.
He would also need permission from his girlfriend to buy supporter.

Latino and Leeroy would just continue flaming each other.

Without having visibility of skills at this point, and just going off salary I'd say we would struggle this year. As expected we should make the second round and end up in the playoffs of the Asian Championship, given our group is really easy this season.

but i don't expect this current crop to bring us glory. Next year we wouldn't qualify for the World Cup, so we will end up in the repechage and hopefully qualify for the World Cup consolation tournament.

By then the foundation would be set for a strong push for Asian champions and hopefully qualifying past the group stages of the world, if we can all band together and train like mofos. That is.. If I am reelected, and if I can't get our talent to that level, then I would have failed and learned nothing from my first stint.

A lot of hard work, sometimes just need a bit of luck.

I haven't done any scouting this season, there should be a few gems out there still.

Anyone who sells a player for more than what he sold a similar player for, Zyler would be busy accusing them of cheating.

I hope everyone remembers to vote, make sure you pick the person who you think would do the best job for Australia. I wish the candidates the best of luck.

What if everybody who has not made a statement are the only ones not to get on others nerves and win?
when is the deadline to run?

Fantastic questions Regan.

Feel free to search my post history if people don't believe I've said this... But training is always about sustainability and planning.

Being the previous U21 coach many seasons ago, I would have loved for everyone with a prospect to just pump the skills as high as possible. But the risk with that is the manager ends up with a player they cannot afford and would be left with no choice but to sell the player or bankrupt themselves. That is not sustainable and a stepping stone towards team success. It also leads to attachment, refusing to sell that player even if he, alone, can't get you any further. Thus stalling the team.

I have always put the needs of a team ahead of the needs of the U21 team. I think it is easier for division III teams to train U21 calibre guards and small forwards, but not bigs. Yet it still happens, and as long as those managers are made aware of the options available to them if they wish to take that path, then we have done our bit.

I don't want 150k monster bigs in division III, cause it just doesn't work.

As long as people understand that we are trying to get the best out of their player in line with their team then it will lead to better participation, especially when success follows. If we put the needs of the nation first, we will end up with half baked players who end up overseas and never trained again.

I believe people need to have a plan with training. Know how you're going to train and know when the players are going to peak and become better than the league you're in. By knowing that, you'll know when it's the right time to make a massive push into the next division.

Helping managers train their rookies isn't the end game. It's about managing their team around their future franchise player. Getting them to understand how to train correctly in alignment with their team's success, and not ending up a mid table team for the rest of their Buzzerbeater life.

Rob (Western Titans) and I were just chatting (we work at the same school for those who didn't know) and we spoke of the impact you have had on Australian players. We estimated that if we took all of the players that you had personally trained, together with the Aussie players you helpd managers train to those players whose managers you have given vital training advice for, then there would be 30-40 Aussie players who---when listed---would be some of the best players in BB anywhere. While this in itself is a massive contribution to the Aussie BB community and in particuler, the NT teams, there is also the reinforcement of what you said above. That you appreciate the importance training an NT player has on a mangaer in their respective Division and that training a U21 player has to 'fit' with the team's future. I, personally, received valuable training advice from you on my two U21 players who are now coming into their own. Sure, others contributed (Yoda, Rob, Big Fish etc) but an U21 NT Manager needs to be able to juggle the NT's needs with that of the many individual managers training up talent. Your record in this regard is impressive. It's one thing to talk about 'improving the up and coming Aussie talent' but another thing to have experience doing it and proof that you know how to do it properly and consistently.

Enough said. Time to vote. :-)

Kind words. Thanks :)

I would certainly like to see that list. Sounds a bit generous..

40 is a lot of players.
