Big 8 should win but I wouldnt put it past the Great 8 to put some of their Tank(er)s on the court.

Given that I havent altered my lineup too many times this season, Im hoping to get a few players selected

Edit

Seems an injustice that come the relegation series, the 6th placed Great 8 team will have a HCA over the 7th placed Big 8 team despite having less wins

2nd Edit

Seagulls are definitely flying under the radar (excuse the pun)

Whilst competing in the ABBL they have managed to draft 3 young superstar players (2 x18yos & 1 x19yo) and are cruising along with the 2nd best record in the Great 8 whilst having one of the lowest salaries of all the teams

Sneider is deadly. Big 8 will win this season by a country mile.

Schneider will defensively struggle at PG as there will be no defensive switches in the Allstar game.

Williams at 24 yo is the youngest player selected which is a great achievement as he plays SF and is hardly monoskilled.

Maybe the way the teams are selected could be improved upon.

Perhaps the Manager of the top team in each conference could select the teams and also tactics with a limit of 3 players being able to be chosen from each team.

Would engage all the Managers in the community in discussion on which players shouldl be chosen and what tactics could be used

What if that manager selects three rejects to sabotage the allstar game?

not that anyone cares about the allstar game anyways.

I think people care about getting players selected. I don't think anyone cares about the result.

Thus the current method of picking players based on their statistical performance over the season is fine. A manager selecting would pick the best players in the league, not necessarily the best performed. Getting an allstar gig is a nice reward for a player doing well.

Schneider got selected at PG despite only playing there 4 times and not ranking above 10.

Defensive abilities & performance dont seem to be considered as a selection criteria, which I guess is pretty typical of All Star games

Sure. And second place averaged 7 points and 6 assists on 30% shooting. Third place averaged 16 points and 4 assists, but only played 7 games at PG himself. Fourth place went 14 and 6, which aren't exactly all star numbers.

Schnieder only played four games at PG, but at least he averaged 22 ppg, 14 rebounds and 3 assists while doing it. And as you know, rating means poop for players who are switching defensively, since it doesn't take it into account.

I would suggest if there were other players banging the door down to get in the all star team, Schnieder wouldn't have made it. But its more a case that the big 8 PGs suck statistically this season.

22 ppg, 14 rebounds and 3 assists

Those stats are good but I would expect him to foul out pretty quick trying to defend a quality PG

Be nice if his defensive role could be switched in the AllStars game

Ofcourse there was always Druesne (SG) & Riviera but neither got in the top 4 vote getters for their respective positions

Druesne 4th in the league for rankings and is ranked 5th in Australia and 260th in the world

There's even been a newly bought player that made ASW after playing just one match. So maybe, a requirement should be a minimum number of matches in a particular position.
