That's true ; but I'd like to highlight 2 points :
- tanking and rebuilding is far less easy than it seems. You have to plan years (IRL, not seasons) ahead, and know what training plan you'll have to make very dominating players emerge at the very same time, all while getting loads of money to fill in the inevitable gaps. If it was easy, AmenRa (Joe, Q, whatever) would have some kind of competition.
- please don't get mad, I absolutely don't want to be mean, but : if you had an overstuffed trophy room that would be quite the challenge trying to achieve what you're doing. But it takes a huge step to reach a Finals, let alone win it (which in an even greater step indeed). When you'll consistently reach Finals, you'll be able to win some - then try fancy stuff. Why do that the other way round ? You have reached a momentum with your team, it's time to give it the little extra it needs to write you team's name in Belgian BB's history book :)
That being said, I'm the first one to say that you totally deserved to play the Finals last season. But this still wouldn't have been a match for AmenRa. He's so unchallenged, that he can consistenly win doubles since dropping a league and maybe losing HCA in the Finals isn't a big deal since so far he can win on anyone's ground.
If you can reinforce your team a little bit he might have to drop the Cup in order to retain HCA and win the championship, therefore giving you a clear shot at a tournamenet win. It's worth giving it a thought !
But I will have to wait and see what the time will bring. It would be a shame not to achieve anything with the team I built, so if I don't find the right player, I will have to explore the market any further indeed ;)
I think we both agree you're looking after a talented SF. I'm sorry but you missed the greatest one
(40289338). And he was for sale 4 seasons ago, for 8 M. That's a lot of money, but he's one of world's best and worth every penny. Before him (because he's from outer space) the best SF Belgium had ever had was a player I had trained, Gaethofs. He was full trained when he was 28th, so that's a 10 season training plan. I still have his skill-set :
https://imgur.com/a/AUS2HU5Needless to say, after spending 10 seasons having such a guy, he wasn't for sale AT ANY PRICE. The only reason Haesaerts was on the transfer list is that Joe needed his Utopia team to get money for further development, if he had trained this monster with his own team he's never sell.
That's why you're not finding what you're looking after : players might exist, but team won't sell, or if it does, you'll have to pay big money. If you get yourself free of your flag issue, you might find what you're lacking.
Sorry for that wall of text, and once again don't take what I said badly, I really mean it in an useful way. Before I won the Championship, I lost twice. Before I won the first Cup, I lost 3 times. I really do know what it is to be good, but not good enough.
But don't despair ! Even at the peak of his team, Buston never managed to hit a double. If you're getting close enough, AmenRa will have to drop something, and since you'll be the second best team around, you could end up the one picking it up :)
