Well a good SF is impossible to find. For three seasons I tried to replace my "original" season 10 SF. He had prominent OD and strong ID and was nothing special. He always had a TPE of about $2-300,000 yet every time I tried to search for a guy who was even one point better than him they started at $600,000 and usually had some horrible flaw. A team that has a gun SF is a team that has a future.
Even with an Aussie team, an original player, a draft pick playing big minutes and a high level PR man I am not making that much money. Once I sell off my sucky extra cup big men I will be a little better off but not much.
I am in your situation a little now having 3 young guys taking the PG training and it is killing me. I really want to drop one from the rotation but the choice is impossible.
Mu is already a solid SG backup and *might* be on the Aussie U21 team next season.
Barton is the PG I have always wanted, he has sensational passing already at age 20 and by the time I finish training him I hope it will around at least prodigious, not that hard really just catching the OD up now. Young and superstar potential he can become the future star of the team.
Then there is kumar 18 year old superstar. He will be the first trainee I will feel will be completly moulded by me and can become the exact sort of player I want. I always do one week of cross training a season - trivial I know - but over the next few seasons he will et at least some boosts to his not bad starting inside skills.

I decided part way through last season that SF was the most important player. I am training only this position from now on as I agree they are impossible to find. When I have 3 of them then I can sell one of them for a small fortune.

I find PG's are also expensive to buy. There are always a lot of SG's on the market but u have to really pay for a great passer.

It can be done. I made a couple of GFs while training Shortall and another handy SF at the time.
You just need the blokes around your trainees to cover up the weakness really well .... and good tactics of course.
Certainly easier now that you can play a different defensive position to the offensive position selected.

Who said they were all starting out as trainees? I would have thought everyone is training at least 3 players in the same position. Sure some weeks one will miss out a bit for team balance but for the most part 3 will get training.

cause if not you cant afford to buy them... so expensive... 2m for an incomplete SF that still need 2 season or more work and still have flaws..

Bit surprised I still managed to get away with a win tonight considering all my recent trading. Didn't think HCA was worth 15pts up against Hag's lads. A win I will gladly put in the bank! :-D
I've now managed to clear up some serious salary cap space and got rid of on old backup. Interesting times ahead!
