I think it makes sense
The better a league is, the more income they generate from tv revenue, the more share each team gets for tv money.
If they wanted to build on that idea and get more technical, individual teams should get different tv money based on the same reasoning as above. Perhaps individual games could be calculated based on the two team's salaries that are playing. Therefore two top teams from opposite conferences would generate the most tv money, as it should be, while two bottom teams would suffer. This could even put a further downer on those teams taking the option of tanking.
As it is it makes no sense that the two teams with the lowest salaries should receive equal tv money to those teams with superstar quality rosters. It's like the bobcats earning the same tv money as Miami. Mind you it would make sense that the Bobcats earnings went up the week they play Miami but suffer when they play the Kings.
Obviously it's highly unlikely that this will ever occur but i'm happy to throw the idea out there! :-)
