Yeah, I'd like to get one more win so I can feel comfortable snagging 5th... If I were in any other D2 league I'd go for promotion, but the Visionaries are just too tough and can out spend me in a salary war. Just my luck.

in my optimistic moments, the Visionaries will be gone next season and the rest of us will have a chance.

in my gloomy moments, we'll get sent another NBBA rebuild next season.

i think Lucas Ray is correct, we are coming to prime selling season, but it is my experience to rebuild in DII is really challenging -- remember you will be among those buying during this prime selling season.

maybe you will decide to do what i ended up doing -- selling, buying young, and grabbing the great revenue for a season, before i descended to the nether world of DIII. (fwiw, i was in relegation my first season there.)

or you could roll the dice, play your impressive squad, especially with that injured center, see how far you go -- remember there is this feature in this game called "injuries" that can hit other teams, not just yours . . .

No, I'm pretty sure injuries only hit his players...

Yeah but I bought the guy this time. It's not like that nightmare season in your league when I had >15 in one season...

i think you may be attracted to injuries -- you did buy a guy off the TL who was injured -- the rest of us thought that your reason was that he could play basketball, but now i am thinking the reason is you thought a 4 week injury was really kinda sexy . . .

Something I just noticed though (well always noticed but not really paid much attention to) is only 10 players total make each all star team, technically leaving two vacant roster spots.

There's hardly any fouls called or FTs taken. So no real chance of getting an 11th or 12th man in the game.
Good observation though.

last season's game had zero fouls!

Well that was a big miscalculation on my part. Threw away that cup game.

and then there were four:

ATL the Hawks host the Bruins, an NBBA squad ranked 10th in the country

Ron Swanson hosts Rocket Science, an NBBA squad ranked 8th in the country

Window Lickers visit Natelio, a DIII squad (11-2 in their league and 7-1 in the PL we both compete in)

Tucumcari hosts Beware of Dogs, a DIII squad (12-1 in their league)

Visionaries play at South Stags, a DIII team with a record of 8-5 in the same league as Beware of Dogs

Predictions?

At a glance, i would say our Big 8 representatives have got their work cut out for them on Thursday.

i have a lot of respect for Natelio, and they will have HCA.

Tucumcari has the HCA and, frankly, a better squad than Beware of Dogs --

Visionaries cruise, if they choose . . .

Good luck to all. Very impressive to be playing in the Cup in the All Star week -- that is certainly one of my markers of a successful season.

Nice write-up Hassan!

Darn, Natellio looks like a fine team. I've been sitting on several million since the beginning of the season, mostly doing some training and saving some money for next season (after Peluin promotes). I guess it's time to add some salary if I want to keep this Cup run rolling.

This has been the easiest cup run I've ever had. I could have had more bots in the beginning (I get really paranoid about d5er's throwing CTs), but not facing anyone above mid-tier D3 by the all-star break is pretty lucky.

That said, I don't have a lot of minutes left and league is my priority so we'll just have to see what happens. Good luck everyone!
