No, 405% is 405 percent, and 40% is 40 percent. They are not the same(*). That's kind of what that funny % character means.

(*) Well, 405% of zero is the same as 40% of zero, but I think we should work on establishing the meaning of percentage before advancing to complicated second-grade math.

Ah, where to begin. This is a serious and respectful reply to the portion excerpted above.

405% is four hundred and five percent.
40% is forty percent.

Now, if you were saying .405 (notice the decimal point and the lack of the percent symbol!), that's an entirely different proposition. That would be the equivalent of 40.5% (note the decimal here also!). If you're rounding to a whole number percentage, depending on the rounding rules you apply, those values could be rounded to exactly 40%.

If you felt I was leading it to much nature, I apologize. I can say with absolute honesty that I never, and I mean ever, thought while writing that post that I might be leading it to much nature. Frankly, while I am a big fan of nature as a concept, it's always kept in inconvenient places like the outdoors and so it would be a significant departure from my normal behavior to lead anything there, even the previously-referenced it.

But if you got that impression, I'm sorry that you felt that way. I would offer to have my older son, who his himself a second-grader with a sharp mind and keen wit, carry on a conversation with you to establish a relative baseline between someone who "talk like child" and then compare it to someone who "discuss it like man" but since you don't speak with 2nd graders (and I'm not waking him up for this) I suppose that'll have to wait. I would, however, caution that the undercurrent of denigrating women ("little girly jokes", "only woman find funny") is not something that is in any way something you should be proud of having your name attached with.

I do know that Shaq has never asked LeBron how his posterior tastes. I suppose that would also settle this discussion if I knew which side I wanted to win and could contort that to support that position (which is also what she said).
