14k does cut it if you assume ~.9 or whatever on the expensive guard stats. Run it through a calc.

An interesting game tonight, Coach. I'd like to know the skill set of your SG, Ruiz. The matchup between he and my SG Gilewski was interesting. My boy was held scoreless for the first half! Sure, he piled on 23 in the second half but he shot poorly...again! Which is why I put him on the transfer market after the game. Look at his skill set and tell me why he can't shoot against anyone! Sure he's got crappy secondaries and sure I've played LI more often than not which doesn't play to his strengths...but I've played RnG twice in two weeks and he has shot poorly. As the big fish woyuld say..."Flush that stinky turd!" And flush I will...

Actually, now that I think of it...Demagi was defending him wasn't he? My boy was defending Ruiz though and didn't do enough of a job on that. Phenomenal OD my ass!

your fired.
ok so i did run this through Buzzer-manager calc - which because of the new salary calc's is a bit off, but thats ok.

So player 1's stats give a salary estimate of $86,591
The estimate for player 2 is - $84,172
So essentially, those non-guard stat differences account for approximately $2.5k

I assume that BM's 'stat' sub-levels are 0, (ie: Strong = 8.0) (does anyone know this?) but, looking at the above data, a $9k difference between Buzzer-manager salary and actual on P2, that seems REALLY big, so maybe BM's salary estimator is at 0.5 sub-levels?
If i bump every 'guard' stat one level up for P1, the salary estimate is $120,171 -
If i bump every 'guard' stat down one level for P2, the salary estiamte is $54,439

So between one level down and the 'P2 baseline', there is a $30k difference. Between P1 baseline and one level 'up' there is a $34k difference.

If i assume the salary estimator is at 0.5 sub-level, then to go from 0.5 to the next level up in ($120,171 - $86,591)/6/10 = $559 increase in salary per sub-level (assumes this is linear as well, which its not but whatever) either way its 10 sub-levels.
and with P2, thats ($84,172 - $54,439)/6/10 = $495 per sub-level

So if i assume that BM's salary estimator is at 0.5 sublevels AND P2's stats are at like, 0.0 sub-levels, this would account for 6*495*5 = $14,866 salary
(so alright MR smarty pants Lordy, even HALF of the sub-levels cater for a $14k salary difference..... :)

working the other way, 6*559*4 (which would 0.9 sublevel) = $13,416

So a guy with those exact same stats could have a salary difference of $28,282 - roughly... ive made heaps of assumptions about the lineararity of the data, but thats an interesting compariosn.

Intersting? no... stupid poo brain dumboness? yes

im not even going to try and begin to understand how Gilewski has such a low salary. thats just bomb-ness - not really sure what u are trying to get out of him, but a SG who shoots 44% is actually pretty good.

Vaiz is shooting 39% this season as a point of interest. Vaiz only has Tremendous OD.

the whole game was odd, Groppo was 4 from 6 at one stage, then proceeded to miss his next 8 shots. Demaqi was 2-15 yet still kept fkn shooting the ball! like seriously wtf?!?!

i think the fact tha ti played low post may have contributed to more 'open' shots for viaz, whereas RnG tends to be more low-% shots, so yer i think that contributed more.

Viaz guarded Gilewski, but I also totally stuffed my lineup tonight and Demaqi at reserve and backup for SF and SG. so Demaqi may have spent some time guarding Gilewski. BUt i was watching the game thinking 'why is nobody gtting subbed?'.. haha.. silly me. yer that was a bit of a fk up. i should have probably won that game. No i definately should have won that game.

back to the drawing board for me.

Yeah, agree, you should have won that game. As for Gilewski shooting at 44%...

...and your boy, Raiz has 13OD v my boy's 20JS and 18OD and still lost the battle (kind of)...

...not good enough! lol

I guess I compare every guard I get to the ones I trained and Hot Rod (Marcelo Rodriguez) whose salary is less than $70k would have taken Ruiz to town from outside on a Run and Gun tactic and defended him better than Gilewski. Mind you, I made Hot Rod into the perfect outside shooter. I guess I'm just not satisfied with Gilewski's performances when asked to shoot from outside. I get the results given the LI games but I'm just not happy with him. My PG is a much better player...better skill distribution...has secondaries...with only a slightly higher salary...

...and he's Aussie so I'll keep him while I go in to semi-tank mode...

I just realised why we are rivals, we spent half a season in the same league together back in s22. Our previous meeting went like this (52860213).

Just something of note that I've noticed past 2 seasons is that age seems to be affecting salaries to. Just take a note of you're players wages at seasons end if they didn't suffer a decrease anywhere. I believe at around age 26-27 it starts to get noticable more. Actually had one player get 2 pops(admit one was FT) and his wage dropped by 2.3k. And as for comparisons, my starting PG has nearly 20k more wages than my starting SG yet only beats him in one ability and by one point at that. The SG however has much better stats overall, in fact 6 more points than the PG(I know certain skills are valued more in certain positions etc but it's not really the case in this situation). Been trying to figure many things out on this game but yeah lol, always end up confused with some of the formula's and how inconsistant they can be.

I am fairly sure age has no effect but as each season starts the salary of your player will change for two reasons.

1) Most seasons they change the salary formula, it was noticable this season as my guys with good JR dropped a lot in salary.

2) Players get training even if you didn't train them. What? Yes. Everytime you train stamina, free throws or game shape 10% of the effort goes to a random stat instead. Now this can be trivial with old and or capped players but say you spent several weeks on those team trainings and had guys still in their mid twenties it would be no surprise to see sublevels go up and maybe even pops.

Also the global economic update they do each season based on how much training is going on per team. It used to trend upwards, the past few seasons it has trended down.
