Yes many strategies are worth considering and some aren't. If someone suggested that all five players play defence in the front court, it would be absurd. There are reasons for that. There are reasons the box and one doesn't get played and would rarely, if ever, get even considered in professional leagues.

In BB, though, I can see it as a strategy that might work in some situations.

I still dont get the difference of box and one strategy versus man to man. Well obviously if you expect your opponent to play isolation with desired player, you could set in that place your best defender anyway and he would take care of him.

So I kind of dont get the real value of this strategy, except the difference (2-2 zone).

What is your point? Rashard Lewis would be respectable range at worst, I don't want my inept reange PF or Center jacking up 3s... The game engine needs to be smarter.

The box and one is legal in the NBA, as long as the defensive three second rule is not violated. It's just not very effective at the pro level.

so would a 2-3 zone or a box and 1 defense be better for stopping a team's big men?
