1) well I assume I will have lots of help with researching opponents, scouting, and planning. As for the bbmails, I will most likely be picking 3-4 players from each age group that intrigue me, and get to know those 12-16 managers better. It would be just like on the offsite, for I will have a "priority group". It also does not take long to just shoot them a bbmail every week or two and see what's up with their player. I think I will have the time to do that.

2) it will be partially based off the managers, because if they are not willing to train a player differently, then I cannot control them. I will probably look for players that already have 6-7OD and 7 PAS for guards, since they could be shaped more like a true SG (they don't have to train passing and OD as much) and ill also focus on shorter bigs with good secondaries that can be turned into a PF. The key is try to form unique players earlier.

Recruit more people. There are a ton of people on the on site that are still veeerrrryyyy interested in the game and would make amazing offsite members, but are not on the offsite yet. As for the old active offsite members, whether they are losing interest or just have stuff going on in the real world, there isn't much to do to try to respark their interest because I feel like that is more of a natural thing. I think persuading them to train young players in different ways would make things more entertaining for them, because training is ultimately the most fun part of the game. Another thing, is I think the offsite should be able to get more personal, many of the people on there I know very little about. A closer community would also make the game more fun or just harder to leave from.

What?!? Unacceptable. If I wasn't 100% serious about winning, I would totally find a way to get 2nd.

I do agree with you about the older members losing interest and how it is best to focus on others. The offsite is most beneficial to a newer manager in DIV or V, because they have a full array of resources, knowledge, team tools, and experienced managers at their disposal. If they want to promote quickly in this game the offsite will show the how. The more experienced manafers know all of that/about that, so it is certainly their choice to cease being active.

The thing is, though, whoever finishes second (assuming that one of you does) will then have more second place finishes, which means the other will be the one in second place in the most second places and therefore the second placiest of them all, woo, my head hurts now.

I personally think you'd be a better candidate if we were still in the same league and I thought you might throw games against me to focus more on the U21. Clearly Isaiah thought it through far enough ahead to ensure that happened, locking up the key "hrudey's enlightened self-interest" vote. Especially since you beat me frequently and I'm still convinced EBW is just waiting to get some sort of official role here to start copying my avatar again so that he can get people to heap scorn upon me. Little balls of scorn, sure, I'm a big boy, but I cower in the face of heaps of it.

I like you.

You know who you remind me of? The kind of person that votes for oriolekid in a u21 election.

Hey A Warrior, I must have missed this post by you. To answer your question, lots of the training and developing for the future is based on what the managers are willing to train ultimately. I know what I am looking for and am well prepared to help managers train players in whatever direction THEY choose. I will suggest things but its up to them. However,to answer the part as far as types, I have goals for multiple different player types such as PFs, SGs, outside PGs, defensive SFs, defensive bigs, and others. I listed some types a little earlier in the thread of what I will be trying to do. I hope this answers your question.

As for everyone else reading this, I want to thank everyone that has contributed to the debate with your questions. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have been able to have this very successful debate.

Yes, I would also like to thank everyone who voted and participated in the debates! We all appreciate you guys and hopefully everyone can get involved on the offsite, so we can keep in better touch. I most likely will not be able to answer any more questions, before the election is over, so now it's just a "wait and see what happens" sort of deal. Once again, Thank you everyone!

As a sorta aside on the user base on the offsite.

Part of the problem lies with BB itself. It's such a hard game to pickup.
As a community, we should get into the DV's and get to the people as they signup. I don't think we should get them to the offsite right away, but talk to them. Get them into the game and teach them to be successful in the first season. Once they get the bug, they will end up at the offsite.

This is my hail mary, as I feel I may be trailing EBW. This really should have been my Candidate Speech.

You All Are Americans
You all are Americans. Great Americans, who are playing this game, and reading this thread because you are great freaking Americans. I believe I am most fit to lead you outstanding legions of great freaking Americans.

Should I be your candidate?
I am Oriolekid, hailing from the so-so city of Baltimore, in the great state of Maryland. I am eighteen years old, and I work as an EMT because America! I've been on this game for fifteen full seasons, and over four freaking years! I was a freshman in high school when I started this game. And now, as seen earlier, I am posting on my phone from the passenger seat of an ambulance, in the middle of who knows where D.C., just because I care so damn much about this beautiful creation they call Buzzerbeater.

For Christ's sake, I bought a years worth or supporter yesterday, just so I could post a poll in the "vote for Oriolekid" thread. Do all candidate do that? No, just the ones that care like I do.

Vote for the best candidate
You all should vote for the best candidate, an I feel I haven't proven why I'm the best manager. In season 12 I brought back the team training diaries, which had been idle for over two years, and never very popular to begin with, because I wanted a place for the u21 manager at the time, Jelme, to give me advice on how to train my very first prospect, Dan Gardner (12473644) . And fifteen plus season later there have been 221 freaking diaries! Do you know how many NT players have started because of my innovation? It would take me at least an hour to research it all, which is a testament to it's effectiveness.

Go back to the first season the NT manager volunteered for scouting help. Season 14, and October 20th 2010 to be more specific, is the day I published my first scouting results. And so I did it again, for five more seasons. I'm sorry if I've missed the last five, but if you really believe I've lost any scouting touch than I don't know what to tell you.

I have a vision. That we will breeze through continentals, with a kickass roster, learning all we can about GDP because if you're not first, your last, and I want us to be the first to know GDP's effects so we can better prepare ourselves for a vicious world's season. And guess what? We have an absolutely loaded aged 20 class, and we have a legitimate chance of winning worlds next season on talent alone. But this game is not won on talent alone, and I feel I can give that worlds team the additional spark it needs. Because this is America and we don't lose at the game of basketball to European teams.

And all while dominating the next two seasons, I am going to plant seeds for the next U21 manager to harvest, and benefit from if I choose not to run again. Look at our database if you have access. Now imagine the top level talent the same, but now we'll have some players that can shoot the ball in his sleep, some that can thread the rock through an anthill, or score in the lane if he chooses, or a guy that can shutdown the worlds best guards, and bigs at the same time if he wanted. That is my dream. Because this is America.

Oriolekid will lead you to greatness.
Take my hand and I'll lead all of you to greatness, even if you don't see it right now. I love BB, but the last frontier that I have yet to discover is a NT manager position. I've shown a fiery passion for BB once before. If I am the U21 manager you all will see that passion again, and it will be glorious.

And if you still don't know who to vote for, read the first bolded word of each slugline. Because I'm the kind of guy that would write an essay and have a hidden message. And that's exactly the kind of manager the u21 need.
