Sure, I would be happy to provide these statistics for the beginning of the next season and then only use the starting salary from this season
Thanks very much LennuK., I'm very glad to hear that. Not only because it takes away some of the workload, but also because it's nice to see some managers might be willing to help by doing some work that serves the whole HGL community. :)
As for using asterisks (after a team name if transfers have taken place during previous season, which data is used in next seasons' calculations) to differentiate teams from teams whose salary development (up or down) has happened "organically", it also serves teams who have sold players.
EDIT: For example in Rajdersi's case here, this selling of a player would otherwise be seem as a negative TOP8-salary development (as we are using values from beginning of each season), but now if/as we will use some kind of marking system (such an asterisk after a dollar value on the comparison table), we can easily see just by looking at that table if that salary development (again, positive or negative) is due to any transfers (purchases, or sold or fired players) during last season.
Yes, even that is not perfect nor totally simple solution, as
A) that asterisk itself wouldn't even reveal if team would've gained or lost salary due to transfer(s), and
B) sometimes players that are out of top8 are being sold/fired, and then it wouldn't even affect top8-salaries...should team still be marked with asterisk if they sell/fire outside of top8, and if not, what kind of system should be developed to ensure only teams with top8-salary transfers would be marked (as memorizing these kind of things afterwards proves to be challenging)... Not your headache of course, but just a small example of it that sometimes easy things can be made difficult. ;)
