You don't need to worry in fact I bet the Beasts will be smiling. $500,000 on a trainee that could have been spent on an impact SF right now.

As you all know we have bid on so many players and missed out but we finally got lucky with our new man Paki.

There have been 9 recent transfers of 19 year old small forwards with XXX jump shot and MVP potential. Of these, the ones with skills most similar to Paki Mokitimi have been selling for around $ 500 000 to $ 1 450 000.

So even though we paid a lot we feel like we got a lot. We said how our previous trainees were low potential and that was a disaster, well now our 3 trainees are perennial allstar, superstar and MVP. So we don't think potential will be such a problem this time.

But before the Beasts and ACT get too happy we still have nearly a million in the bank and are still searching for that perfect SF, but they are really hard to find.

We have this game circled on our callender. So we need to find that next guy before then.

wow what a horrible game from the dreamers.

we turned it over 30 times :O and fouled about 490 times for the game! that full court press was devastating!

Neil was just tremendous on the offensive end! wanted to keep it to 20, we did, just :D

Chan fouling out early really screws my training this week, guess he gets to play a cup game against a bot :D

Hard luck mate, shame old mate Chan fouled his heart out, maybe that defence doesn't work for your lot! My finished mediocre as my PG got injured (in game thankfully) in the third, he was dominating Tabor at that point! Think with me picking MG I am the only 8 from 8 too :D

obviously havent seen Zed's new players ratings.. but i would reckon, if i got 1.2m for an all-star pot 23 year old 18k PF, i would be pretty damn happy with myself...

Seems like a lot to pay, my guys are slightly better than that and not worth near that much.

Well already it looks like a 2 horse race this season. 3 teams on 4-0 and no-one else looking near as good as the Beasts and ACT. At the moment this race looks like this

Beasts

ACT

Wagadugu Hippopotamuses
Everyone else.

Wow,

Dunno about that man.. I have the luxury of a fairly weak conference which is why I will stay up the top..

My advantage this season is the money, I am making over 100k a week due to a much reduced salary (145k) and sitting on a handy wad of cash already. Beasts will secure home ground as I think their is little doubt that he will lose more than 1-2 games, but as WAGs and MM showed last season that isn't the be all and end all.

Agreed to on Zed's player, I can't see how a player like that could be worth that, unless... He may have some strong secondaries as they don't affect your overall wage unless you are an SF (best pos). If this is the case he may train him with Gallot and Pablich..

i was actually thinking today
i might do some investigations into where Zeds is buying his players from
coz he overpays for everyone, and not just buy a little bit either.

is Zeds a financial feeder team? hmmmm.

just seems dodgy as hell.

Brett looks like you are about the same as me. Costs way down this season as well.

Typical Weekly Net Income: $ 101 634

So I guess in the weeks before the playoffs there may be some big purchases, I am still bidding on guys trying to get an ice-veined-lock-down defender to slow down the Beasts. So I could shoot my load a little early.

But if we are making that much I shudder to think how much cheap teams like the Rangas, Dreamers and Gladiators are making, probably near $200,000 a week.

Rad - Zed is just very slack with his money, good news for all of us.

End of the season I expect ACT on 22 wins, Beasts on 21, be high and me on about 18 and then Rangas, Dreamers, Spartans and Gladiators on somewhere about 14-16. Don't see anyone else in the Great 8 causing many issues although Sammy Dog has a brilliant center.

Yeah I'd be thinking around 13 - 16 wins for me.

Hippo, when my stadium fills up i'm earning only around $110k profit. down from $135k at the end of last season.
my salaries went way up with Gab, Daniel and Schiavio all bumping up... and I'm not too far behind you guys now with total roster salaries.
Thinking i need an entire team restructure.
For a team called the Mad Rangas, i'm lacking a number of key red head role players! :P

Blaze will finish on 21 wins, beasts 21 also.
hippos will finish on 19 or so.
be high will be around 18 wins i expect.
then probably bains/dreamers and myself all fighting for 3rd.
i'll pick dreamers 3rd, bains 4th and me 5th at this stage.

No more cup for me, I used last night's purely for minutes and didn't get as badly scalded as I thought I would.

Hippo, even though I have HCA against Beasts this year my team as it is will not be strong enough I don't expect to beat the beasts and I don't expect it will change before we play. Oh, I am about 120k a week actually. :)

Ranga, maybe you should go with a name change, get a bit of ethnic culture included.. Uno Rangas, Dos Rangas lol..
