Na you are safe. 6 wins is enough. May as well just tank your league games. Starting with tonight.

Training and bad form = semi tanking team. However, one match this weak, so I'll give it a go. My team can either be very good or very crap. Lets see what shows up tonight.

Axis Bots v HSDO

North Carlton Cavaliers v Cunning Linguists

Chumunga v Western Islanders

Bell Park SuperCats v Sid

So there will definately be at least 1 Div II team in the final 4.

Some encouraging signs for teams.
hopelessly addicted put more into this game than Vios Violationers.

Bell Park SuperCats put more into this game than West Island Tigers.

Western Islanders looked like the only team trying out there.

And ironically, Chumunga and Sid play each in the next round of ABBL.

Tantalising stuff!

I had my best player by a mile, Dexter, out injured and lost in OT. A crushing blow as I had really hoped to make the top eight this season. Well done to all the winners and good luck in the next round.

ahhh bad luck.

despite my success this season in the cup, im now ever more convinced that luck plays a HUGE HUGE part in the cup.

Having not encountered a team who genuinely had a bigger salaried roster than me, and having most of my cup games at home, has just made things SOOOOOOOO much easier.

and when you look at the pathways of most of the other teams in the Quarters, they too have also had fairly straight forward runs (in general, no offence to teams who have knocked off good teams!).

Luck plays a huge part in this game.

Well everyone, my cup run and possibly my buzzer beater team has come to an end.

If this 240K player doesnt sell this week, then i lose my team due to bankruptcy

lesson learnt in which i should have though about it when i bought the dude for 3k.

good luck to everyone remaining in the cup and also in your league.

Regards,
Maddy

yer its kinda deflating a little bit.

Like if i use myself as an example.
Rnd1 - CL v Warriors48 (172) - I tied and won comfortably using bench players.
Rnd 2 - ezyfrag v CL - Ezy normaled me, but i had HCA and encountered garbage time
Rnd 3 - CL v Kedford Giants(115) - He set only 3 players (but also normaled me. go figure)
Rnd 4 - Coasters (9) v CL - Ahhh a div II team! But he had a tough week, and HCA to me, he didn't set many of his starters. easy win using some bench as starters.
Rnd 5 - CL v Black Label Society - oooooooooooo so Dire has knocked me out of the cup a few times before, so it was nice to exact my revenge. One of his guys got injured, but it didnt matter anyways, he also put in more enthusiasm, but yer, his lineup was very guard focused, so that was ok.
Rnd 6 - Doncaster Flames v CL - Again, HCA to me, but my league games that week were easy which enabled me to have a full starting 5 for the game.
Rnd 7 - Eaton Boomers vs CL - HCA AGAIN for me, but his team was pretty week and he had been Normalling in the leadup so it was pretty easy in the end.

Don't gt me wrong, ive got ex-abbl team this week, ive got HCA though. (yey!).

But really, ive managed to get full training minutes for my 2 trainee's almost every week, im 2nd on the ladder in the league, and i haven't really had to try that hard to win cup games.

On the flip side, i do have a very good and flexible lineup for Div II, so that does help. But I haven't had an ABBL team yet, i haven't had a team CT me (somebody did sorry, but i normaled) - so there has been a bit of tactic, but mostly luck.

Bloody gutsy move by Bell Park to throw the crunch time at me but that + home court got him the 4 point win so it was a ripper call & well done mate. Another failed cup run for the Tigers, bugger.

Similar situation to me... only I NEVER got HCA, there's that luck that has been spoken of!

Rnd 1 - SHP v Campbelltown Beasts - bot
Rnd 2 - SHP v 300 Pioneards - Norm'd me
Rnd 3 - SHP v 202 Melbourne Kings - Norm'd me
Rnd 4 - SHP v 59 go aussie - GDP'd and Norm'd, but is obviously in rebuilding stage so way too weak
I loose my 2 starting G's during this week.
Rnd 5 - SHP v 97 j-jacks - GDP's (incorrectly) CT's, and buys a $204000 PG the day before... shocker!

not the best run this year, but thems the breaks
