Throwing a game? Ok I know I am a newbie in this league but "throwing a game" I know there are reasons to do this but I have a really hard time with not trying to win, no matter what the benefits are. Take my situation for Sat night game I am sitting at 14-3 and I am playing a team that is 15-2 on their home floor and my best player got injured in tonight's game so he will not be available to play on Sat. I doubt that I could beat this team when I am healthy. So do I play with an energy level of TIE and throw the game or do I go for it with an 18yr old back-up point guard.

'Throwing a game' isn't always bad it can be a strategic move. For example if your think u will lose a game u can TIE to give you a better chance of winning your next game as your enthusiasm will be higher.

An other reason to lose game on purpose, is to avoid 5th place. No PO or relegation games=no income during the PO's.

Yes, I do feel that I will lose this game but I still feel that I should still try and win. The #1 seed is up for grabs. This is a tough call, I feel I owe it to my team to try and win. (Wow, did I really just write that, do I actually think that my team is real?) Thanks for the info and good luck to you.

let's put your focus to win the title, then think how to improve your squad to face promoted BIG BIG challenge.

Yes it is easy and that probably is the smartest thing to do. But I have afeeling not only will I not TIE I will more than likely CRUNCH it. And that is why I am in 2nd place and not 1st because of stupid decisions like that and until I learn to throw a game here and there I probably will not advance in this league. But I do appreciate the advice.
Thank you

PS-I won my 18yr pg had the game of his life. (I got lucky)

yes you have been VERY active on the forums since you joined so I would say you are hooked

just look forward to the next season and believe me div3 is way tougher than div4 the top player in my league has 3 x $20,000 players you wouldnt see even one dude like that in div4 let alone 3 on one team backed up by some more really solid guys
