I get your point, and while this may only affect few teams (being yours one of the affected), I guess this discussion will come up again sometime soon because as the game keeps going on, more will be the teams affected by the same issue.

I agree completely.

I don't think that they will implement something like that because this issue is the exception, not the rule. Although, I'd like to suggest something, if I may: you can always keep your trainees, train your starters too, and then replace them in the beggining of the new season for new ones with salary within the range you can afford. This way, you get to have even better starters as the season goes on, and you just have a little downgrade in the beggining of the new one (although that downgrade is only going to put you where you want to be with this "Don't train" system). You still get to keep the profit of that replacement.

Just a thought ;)

EDIT: I just realized we could easily be talking in portuguese, but rules are rules :p

Today is the exception, in the near future it will be the reality of many teams. Anyway, of course I'll try to adapt to the current system, I'll start training SFs and PFs and sell/buy players at the beginning of the future seasons. I'd just prefer to keep my players on my roster for more time, sometimes you get attached to them and don't want to look at them as totally disposable assets.

I agree completely. Actually, I really like some of my players and wouldn't be happy if I had to get rid of them just because of the wages.

Another thing you can do is to switch player between games in order to try never giving them full training.

Abraço tambem :)

You can sell your tarinees and train FT and Stamina. This way your team will be complete... Every season sell all your picks and earn money from them. It's not the most profitable way but you get what you want...

Totally agreed with Idea about "stop training" feature.

It's a possible solution, though. He does whatever he likes, I am nothing more than anoter user who gives his opinion to his problem. I don't refer the word ''must'' in my previous sentence.

I think it should make the game more difficult for who starting from an inferiority situation.I think that the actual system is a choice of the developers to force the teams however to change always something, because a team could reach the top level and then stop there for many seasons with the same players. Also if sometimes it creates some tough questions, this is one of the point most interesting of the game

Same here. That would be really useful feature!

I think that dealing with such issues is an essential and planned part of the "economic equilibrium". Since things like how8.com it is not like managers couldn't foresee it.

The problem is more when you want to train a player to be a center, and you already have a good center, and so you don't want the good centers salary to rise, but you still want to train your trainee up.

In the future, I predict the top teams who don't want to add to their expenses by increasing skill on their players will value experience more and play older players who train only very slowly (if at all) alongside trainable players to make sure only the players they want trained are trained, while protecting the quality of their roster.

In fact, it is really this season where we may start to see that happen.

For the first time, there may now be enough good players aged 27-30 who are no longer good for training but have average+ experience and do better on court than younger players with similar skill levels.

Further, i the transfer market stabilises, these top 27 year old players will start to become available in the 2mil-4mil range, or about half their worth if they had the same skill and they were 22-24.

And so on, scaling down in skill and cost through the divisions until you get to the level where teams are still kenn to add as much skill as possible through training (that they can afford).

Thus, the game doesn't need a "no training" option - there is already a mechanism in place (albeit requiring a trade off). This game is full of such trade offs, that is why it is good :-D
