So everyone in the Tea Cup has to train aussie players that sounds like a great idea :)

This TEA CUP league looks really promising!!

hopefully it can get more Aussies interested and who knows might be two PL's later on with relegation and promotion just like the BBB version. Kudos to all those involved.

Feel the urge to watch aussie Buzzerbeater games at 3am on a Saturday Morning? well now you can!!! (Thanks again Vio!!!)

Jokes aside, Season 1 of the TEA CUP is about to begin and even though the games are at a BB tragics only time of 3am, there's going to be some great games!

Lets have a preview/look at some of the EPIC 1st Round SHOWDOWNS!!

No excuses for gameshape/enthusiasm, everyone has the same this first round!

Baxter Bogans (EARLS) V High School Drop-Outs (ROOKS)

Wow, Huge EARLS VS ROOKS MATCH UP! Even gameshape, Same Enthusiasm. Going to be a good indicator of who's the favorite to win the comp this first season!

Baxter had a nice win against the HSDO in the semi final DIV2 playoffs last season. Can the drop outs regroup and show their strength and Peppermint Rook pride?!

Monkey Business (EARLS) V Vios Violationers (ROOKS)

Another big EARLS VS ROOK match up this week. Vio fresh from DIV 3 with a undefeated season (ill forget that Adelaide Ravens debacle) and MB a strong playoff DIV 2 side. Looking forward to seeing a big game from Bozo and Rowland from the Violators to give the Rooks a hard win!

Chumunga (EARLS) V V-Cut (ROOKS)

ANOTHER! nice Earls V Rooks match up this 1st round!! Good Battle between two evenly matched Div 2 teams. Looking forward to seeing V-Cut in action, been awhile since ive seen his team on the court. Should be a good win for the Rooks here too!

Zazzocalypse (EARLS) V Screaming Eagles (ROOKS)

ANOTHER!@! Nice EvR Match up! Geez nice work on the schedule Vio (even tho u fudged up the timings)
Havent seen either of these teams play, but am looking forward to learning who's who in this match up. Should be a interesting DIV 3 vs DIV 2 match up. Both teams looking alright on paper. Who will prevail????

Amos Rogues (EARLS) V Crockers (ROOKS)

Well not such a big match up unless Zyler finds some decent buys on the market pronto! Looks like a easy win for the Crockers and the Rooks here!

Hobos (EARLS) V The Dons (ROOKS)

Is DON, Is Good? Im hoping the slogan get the Dons over the line in this Ass end bottom of the table clash!! The Dons have some great trainees going, but im not sure if it'll be enough against the Zyler fanboy Hobos!

Hadders HEROS (ROOKS) V Vis Maior (ROOKS)

Well its the only RvR clash tonight, and it really is going to be a test of might for Vis Maior, coming up against the team that has coached the U21 national side! Really going to be a test of tactics and courage here, but I think the HH should be too strong.

West Coast Steel V Shepparton Shooters

Likewise the only EvE game tonight, looking very very one sided with the Steel looking way too hot for the Shooters! Even if west coast has 2-3 injuries, i think the shooters only have a chance!

Conclussion: Great round of games, bring it on!!!

Oh ho ho.
What a week to start things off. A few very good games were scheduled to start things off and a few cracking games were a result!

Earls vs Rooks

The match of the round: Baxter Bogans VS High School Drop-outs
A sad start to the Bogans in the new TEA CUP after going down to HSDOs 107-108. After an early lead to the Bogans, the Drop-outs decided to come clawing back to make for an exciting finish!
Key stats-
The Bogans had a FG% of 39.4 which needs to be improved for him to win a few games.
HSDOs had a very good 36% shooting from distance when baskets were hard to come by.
Bogans had 60 rebounds and HSDOs had 64, giving not many advantages on the boards to HSDO.

Monkey Business VS Vios Violationers
Who predicted this? Vios got out to a big lead going into the third looking sure to win. Then, in the fourth, Monkey Business started to fire as many 3s as he could chew, putting a lot of pressure on the Violations. It wasn't enough though and Monkey Business went down 101-105.
Key stats-
Vios had 15 more rebounds than Monkey and seemed to have a big impact on the game.
Monkey had a solid 50% 3FG shooting but just wasn't enough.
Vios big men had a combined 74% FG shooting.

Screaming Eagles VS Zazzocalypse

The Eagles were off to a flier in the first quarter and looked to dominate all game. Zazzocalypse then came back and took the lead in the second. Zazzo went on to improve his lead in the third. The Eagles looked to have a little fight left in the fourth but it was too late. What a perfect game. With a final score of 111-121, it was fairly close.
Key stats-
Zazzo's PG Tonko Švorinic had 10 assists which helped his big men score a lot easier.
The Eagles had 25 fouls which is way too many.
Paweł Rot from the Eagles is the only rebounder for them.

Hobos VS The Dons
Hobos were off to a slow start as they always do by staying at a constant 3 point loss in the first half. Hobos then fired in the third to completely dominate the game and steal it from The Dons. In the fourth nothing changed and Hobos went home with the victory. With a 120-110 score line, it was a close game in the end but the ratings suggest a bigger margin should have happened.
Key stats-
Hobo's Marnix Verhoeven big man had a good 80% FG shooting.
The Dons gave away 10 rebounds which was a big difference in the end.
Hobos top scorers are SG and C, The Dons top scorers are SG and SF.

VCut VS Chumunga
A very early lead to V-Cut in the first, second and third gave them a lead which would win them the game. With Chumunga only winning the fourth, you can say it was disappointing. With a final score of 95-80, it wasn't a day for the Earls.
Key stats-
V-Cut had four players who looked like they could get it in the basket.
Chumunga had 39% FG shooting.
Enrique Ruiz del Arco was three assists off a triple-double.

CROCKERS VS amos rogues
There was never a game here and was always a blow out. Only Crockers, Crockers, Crockers. Crockers dominated all game. With a score of 144-42, that's a big win.
Key stats-
Crockers had 81 boards.
Somehow Noel McCauley from the rogues scored more than 10 points.
With only three players on a team, there was no doubt.

Rooks vs Rooks

Vis Maior VS Hadders Heros
Vis Major lead in the first and looked to maybe a sneak a win. In the second quarter, things were very close with only Vis Major only scoring one more point than Hadders in the quarter. Hadders smacked Vis Major in the third and looked to finally put some authority into the game. Closing out the last, the score ended up being 117-111.
Key stats-
Hadders had 14 more boards than Vis Major.
Vis Major had 41 assists.
With 6 more fouls to Vis Major, someone needs anger management classes.

Earls vs Earls

shepparton shooters VS West Coast Steel
WCS started strong and ended up strong. Winning all quarters, looked to only smack the shooters around. With only five men for shapparton, and the wrong tactics...things were never looking good for them. The shooters were lucky to get away with 85-122.
Key stats-
WSC's points came mainly from Abdul Jaffery with 32 points.
The shooters managed to grab 4 more rebounds.
Phuoc Nguyên, WSC has a Nguyên.
