I would be amazed if a salary cap didn't come into effect..... if it does then this season could really be won by anyone.

at what level would you like the salary cap to be..?
you and rwystyrk tell us how much you can pay so BBs don't have to make calculations..

oh, and there's a little possibility that you may want a really fair system..
then they have to find how much Republic of Dominicana champ can pay..

Not sure if I understand your response.... cap or no cap - doesn't bother me.... I just feel in the same way managers pushed the boundaries on things like day trading this led to tightening of transfer rules..... we already have a wage floor and so I imagine a ceiling isn't that far behind (thanks to VS this season!)

I can't imagine the initial ceiling making much difference... the floor certainly didn't but I imagine a step in the right direction.

No idea on numbers...can I get back to you after the wage update in a few days?!

but the point of BBBest is to see the best, not only tactical battles but teams and players.

The problem is not the salary total, but the posibility to just hang around in top leagues of small countries and earn millions by doing literally nothing.

I dont mind +1M rosters if they are earned, well sustained rosters.

What are highest salary of one player at the moment? (at TL I found 449k) 500k cap for team could mean some players could be eliminated from B3 just because his salary is higher than team cap. And would it be a cap just for B3 or general? (expect for NT/U21). I prefer general for league, cup, B3 matches. It would be strange if you can play 1M+ roster in league/cup, but can't in B3.
If the cap is implemented I can't imagine it lower than 800-900k.

Can you find weakest participant of last B3 (excluding teams in time of tanking like TUKUMS)? I'm not sure how many Div II and lower cup winners were involved.
(181976.218) Here you can see wage bills of this last B3 playoff. Just one team below 700k.
I still think it should be general rule, because also in league or cup you can face tanking teams.

would you agree if i say that the hardest earned B3 ticket is winning the national cup (or the division.1 championship) of the country with the biggest user base (Italy or Spain)..?

Yes, I agree, but I'm not sure how many times in this countries have won the cup team which is not Div I, because I think the gap in economic conditions between Div I and Div II teams is bigger than between VS and rest of the world.

ok, here's another suggestion..

we can take this team's economy as the base and set the cap according to his/her roster salary average in the whole season..

i really don't think a cap is needed for domestic tournaments..

I would argue no:

In smaller nations the structure lends itself so that you could see more teams with wages that deviate further away from the average.

Nothing stopping teams yo-yoing between Div 1 & 2 and then going for a top division title and then all hell can break loose going for BB3 ticket.

Then you have the old TIE pacts and between just 3 or 4 managers you can manipulate the outcome of the league or cup (if they are clever/strong enough)...

This season, I didn't have a single home cup game.. I drew Ball Bouncers in the BB3 (and just laid down) and I've just seen I've CT'ed my way to the double after some fun and games between managers trying to take me down....

I think that in Spain/Italy and similar nations you have more balanced games on average but that doesn't make the route to the top any easier than in competitive small countries.

its not about number of online users (even if it matters) it is about having a competitive roster or demoting.
if you are able to hang in 5º-6º place and earn big money.

Asking where to put the line is just demagogy. That problem arises everytime you have to put a line. Be it the hard cap (where is high or low enough) or be it when a man is tall.

Still think the problem is not about the maximum roster, but about less competitive leagues being able to win or finishing near the top with low weekly spending (relative term) that leads, in my opinion, to an unbalanced economy, biased towards smaller countries.
