Very good points to consider. Most I have considered already and some that I will need to keep in mind.

I am looking more at performance in individual games rather than comparing one game to another. For example how the pacing of the game is impacted when each Center is on the floor. If the player with low SB results in a greater number of IS that is data. I will also have to keep in mind the changes of line-ups on the floor through out the game.

I am aware that there are many variables that will affect this study and I am doing my best to control as many as I can. This is an issue with any sort of analysis that can be done but common trends are more of what I am looking for rather than exact numbers as to how many SB or how many IS. Some of the variables will counter themselves with enough data. GS for example because in one game the high SB player may have a higher GS but in another game the low SB player will have the higher GS. I will do my best to control it but it may not be as big of an issue as more data is collected.

I appreciate the feedback as it helps me consider new ideas. My goal now is to collect as much data as possible while I figure out EXACTLY what I want to do with and work on the programing to easily compile it. In the end even an inconclusive result is something as is true with any study.

Anyone else that is able to assist with the little player information I asked for in the beginning post would be appreciated. :)

I'm currently training two centers. Not sure if it will help but you can take a look:

Player A: 14 ID, 8 SB
Player B: 9 ID, 6 SB

Let me know if they'll be any help to you :)

Unfortunately those players will not help much although I appreciate the offer. Similar ID with different SB is ideal.

here are my 4 players which might help you-
player 1:IS-15 SB-8 (averages 1.3 blocks per game)
player 2:IS 14 SB-8 (averages 1.7 blocks per game)
player 3:IS-12 SB 11 (played 1 league game and blocked 3 shots and averages over 3 blocks per game in the cups)
player 4:ID-14 SB-6 (averages 1.3 blocks per game but thats because of 9 blocks in 1 game)
player 1 and 2 are C and PF starters.player 3 and player 4 are slternate backups for league games and starters for cup games(player 3 has just played 1 league game and usually plays complete 48 mins in the cup game)
if they are of any help then u can tell me.player 2 and 4 are the closest to ur demands...

Those players could be useful. If you wouldn't mind sending me a private message with either the players names and those stats attached or those players Identification number with those stats attached.

I am assuming that with each IS you meant ID :p

Small sample size, but I think the best way to do this is as follow.

Get the team that has the two Players you are looking for. Similair ID, big gap in SB. Now, schedule weekly your Scrimmage against this team. Same tactic every week. Difference is, one week the SB guy is at C, the next you swap him with the other.

Now some things will still change as any training pops on either team will affect this, and Game Shape/Stamina will still be in play. But Ability won't change DRASTICALLY week to week, and you'll get to face the same C each time.

Note: Even a Pop in Passing for the other team, or OD for your team, will affect this. Why? Passing improves the Shot, so now the C you play against will have a better shot than the week before, and OD means more pressure on passes so the C you play against will (A) not get the ball as much or (B) will get it but in a worse position to shoot than previously. Seriously, ANY pops on either team will change things.

Still, if you can get some one to make you the Scrimmage every week and assure that all the Settings are the same, you can swap your C and PF to 'test' SB and Help Defense.

Wozzvt has some good info about shotblocking. You should check out some of the blogs he has made on the NT offsite about shot types and defense. I didnt read everything on this forum so i dont know if it had already been mentioned. Also another thing i dont know if its been mentioned, shotblocking also disrupts those "driving" layups and shots. I didnt notice it at first but when Wozzvt mentioned it I started looking for more shotblocking and have noticed a big difference in my team defense. Even a couple guys with 10 SB can really help a team out down low. On those inside shots its a mixture of ID and SB against IS that will be the deciding factor on made shots from anywhere inside whether its a shot or layup or dunk. Like I said Wozzvt was the one that figured this up using a formula( I believe a regression formula).
