I see the sentiment in your post, but we're not asking for mod. We're asking for a chat moderator. I think it's come to the point where we need at least one person in the USA chat every game who can moderate (kick/ban/give warnings etc.). Otherwise it becomes a spam fest. jfarb and sleet do a good job when they're online, but we need someone online all the time. We can't ask that of one or two people to be online every game. I think the general suggestion is to give a few trustworthy and active people the ability to kick, ban and give warnings for chat. I do understand what you're saying about how being a mod is almost like an honorary title for a large contribution to the game, but I think that it has become necessary for us to have additional chat mods.

what about a guy that was on the offsite for a long time, like tangosz (whoever hi real name is) or Coco (if he even wants to) they've been on long as I can see. Or Big Dogs maybe. Anyone who has the 2 american flags icon I think deserve op. So that takes all the newcomers/normals out, like me, LBJ, Jack, and everyone else not there long, I'm talking about guys that been on there for over a year.

Most saturdays its going to be unlikely for me to be there, sorry guys. I think the other people you named most likely won't be there as well.

It is true that most vet managers avoid #USA like its the plague. Its pretty rare to find anyone from D3 upwards in USA chat. Reason being that even when there aren't spammers or trolls, its still basically non-stop play by play of people's games. The thing that some managers don't figure out until they have played for a while is that, basically no one cares about the score of your game or your team but you. There are thousands of teams and games going on, in thousands of leagues, so no one cares that your 5k SF has 25 points and that you are winning 47-23 in some game in league V.57. Giving people constant updates on your game is basically spamming.

I hate just telling you to use the ignore button, cuz I'm sure most of you do. Don't feed the trolls haha. The other thing you can do is start your own chat room, which is very easy to do with mibbit. Just type in #USA2, which will put up a link, click on it and ur there. If you are the first one there, you will have OP of that chatroom, and you'll be able to moderate it. Then just invite others to come. Its not a perfect solution I know.

I usually watch my games, but don't go in chat very much anymore. I am willing to go back into chat and monitor people and ban those as I feel necessary.

We need someone who's on there a lot. And they have to be a GM, Mod, or have been in BB for 2+ years. These are the only canidates I can think of
