Makes no difference to me. I have a bot in the cup and a fairly easy draw next week.

No good for old Hippos and Skyhooks in the Cup tonight...

Well done III.12, only 1 team knocked out, which was always going to happen, otherwise a clean round.

He's bought himself a Gab Wall type.... a very good big man, but very foul prone.

Hey mate,

It is pretty tough in Div III, period, for a brand new team. If you are looking at long term playing this game, you could drop a division and play 2 seasons, then be back competing.
Don't get discouraged if you take some hits.

D.

thanks for the encouragement. I got thumped at home playing crunch time to the team directly above me - definitely going to relegate. Good to find out early though, I guess.

Any advice for player training? I was going to try and get some respectable players (aged 23-28) and train them in stamina & FT, looking to save cash on a trainer and wages. I figure they will be decent enough backups in a few seasons when I can afford some better players and a good trainer to focus on skills.

congratulations on your road OT win tonight.

Hi jake, welcome to the league.

IMO one of the best ways to start as a new team is to buy some young trainees with at least allstar potential and train the life out of them for at least 2 seasons.

Don't buy new players for this season as you will demote. Make some decisions once you see your div 4 opponents next season

Good luck

Tills

hey Tills, thanks for the advice. bought a lvl 4 trainer, and am saving the cash now except for some cheap trainees to hopefully get some improvements in and make a quick buck.

I have been reading the help forums like mad, it seems a couple of the 18 y/o players I have could improve significantly before they hit potential. In theory I should be able to make some cash, only problem is will people buy them due to their poor potential? I see it as skill level is skill level, but not sure everyone else does.

Including the 2 crap potential players, I have 6 trainees for 2 position guard training (am looking to buy a better 18 y/o trainee if I don't have to break the bank). Two of them are old (23 & 24) but seeing as though I am new and not going to be winning games I might as well see how long it takes to train so I have the data for the future. Is it even worthwhile training 3 positions?
